NaNoWriMo 2010, Fun and Flirty!

Yeah, the site was down for under an hour. Back up and working fine. I've got all my material together and in a couple of hours will be pounding the keyboard.

Good luck to all my fellow NaNo'ers.

I haven't had time to start yet! (she says as she lurks the Lit boards). This is the first peaceful 20 minutes I've had in two days!!

I've been trying to catch up to the word count, but I'm about a thousand behind yet. Then there's 1700 tomorrow, and the next day, and the next . . .

I broke 20,000 today on my way to 50,000 but I don't claim it's very cohesive. I feelt like I know what I'm writing about but, at this point, I'm still exploring the different veins. I have part of an outline but I'm going at this pretty free form this year. I hope eventually it will all come together and make sense.

I'm sure the lack of activity on this thread is because all you NaNo'ers are busy typing. :)

Nano and Writer's Block

I wrote a Nano novel several years ago and I swear it just took it right out of me. I think I can understand how some people just have 1 book in them... although I know that I have more than 1 book. Someday I hope to be able to participate again. Kudo's to all of you who do this year after year.

Any suggestions for "sophmore slump"?

Completed Two NaNoWriMo Novels

I wish I had seen this thread earlier...

I did NaNoWriMo the last two years but could not get up for it this year for some reason. I think your thread would have given me the inspiration to go ahead and sign up!

Hoperully next year we can get some more interest here on Lit, would love to have some friendly competition..

This was my fourth year and I finished a few days ago. School takes too much of my writing time.

Past NaNo threads had more chatting, but that will always depend on who participates each year.

The NaNo site is a great place for inspiration as is your own region. In fact, I am sitting with about fifteen other NaNo'ers at this very moment at a write-in. We meet weekly during November and have numerous threads we post in daily.

That's it exactly Lynn! (nods vigorously)

BTW Magica, you're doing much better than I am. I have around 12,000 words. bah! :(

Scripto! *hugs* Hope you made it through NaNo. I just qualified and finished, kind of. I got my 50,000 and my winner badge but I'd say I have a lot of work and another 50,000 to 100,000 words to write to finish the book. Time to sleep, lol.

*Girlie squeal and hugs back*  :rose:

Congrats on finishing it! Very impressive and I'm so very proud of you! I have another friend who I think will come in just under the wire.

Me? Nope. Didn't even come close. Was working too much on my business, but it's alright. I've got some great starting material. I'll keep plugging away at it. ;)

Hm, two and a half hours until it is December. Do I have the speed to pull it off from 0? Hmmm... Only requires a minimum of 334 words per minute.

Hmmm. I probably should have thought about entering this year. I knocked off two novels this month.

Maybe next year.

Honestly, I don't think I'd do it again unless I could devote an hour or two a day to it. Trying to dictate in the car just sucked creatively. Much better to work at your own pace and create something worthwhile.

So... didja? :D
