I recently saw a South Park episode about NAMBLA...the North American Man Boy Love Association...which touched upon the debate about the nexus between gay men and pedophiles.

I agree when it comes to consenting adults, and I disagree with what they are doing here in Southeast Michigan with having a TV show depicting men who have been arrested for soliciting sex from a prostitute.

1. Drawing a comparison between violent crime offenders and boys who may or may not be engaging in consentual sex with adults is just....ludicrous. Apples and oranges.
2. Not an expert on Hebrew culture, but, this does not make them legal adults.
3. Most states have an age limit as to when the child can make this decision. Again, apples and oranges.

Actually, I think you have that backwards. It has become less acceptable. Think about it. It has been acceptable for older men to take young wives for simple reasons. The younger women were able to produce more children. Which were needed to help the family. The younger women could also endure pregnancy better. Pregnancy was a fairly high risk thing, before modern medicine. 100 years ago and more, no one would have batted an eye at what your 2 examples did.
