My uncle was a Korean war veteran and....

My uncle was a Korean war veteran, and during his late stages of Alzheimer's disease, every time he saw an episode of M*A*S*H* on TV, he thought that he was watching live footage of the Korean war.
I salute your uncle..thank you for your service...🙏

A little Korean war story:
Back when, after HS in 1953, a bunch of us New Jersey kids (4) signed up for Korea...We were stationed in Ft Dix, New Jersey, for basic training and 2nd 8 weeks of infantry training, and then when we finished, all 200 in our training company stood waiting for our assignments to Korea...They called out all of my friends and the others to "Korea," but when they called my name, they said, "Elliot, Berlin occupation." Haha...Well, the war ended before they got there, and they were stuck there, and I loved the duty in Berlin, even got married there, and she's still here with me.
So who knows, things happen. One door closes, and another door opens; that's life.

My friend enlisted in Air Force in the Vietnam era...spend three years in Germany...loved it..
