My submissions are getting ignored because of the ongoing competitions?

I mean, you can go into New Stories and see that literally hundreds of stories get published every day. I had a story approved and published this last Tuesday.

Unless you're following some kind of "Dead Internet," conspiracy theory and believe that none of those authors are real... 🙄
Yea, I did that right after posting that message and felt dumb. But it does look like a massive chunk of the stories is for the competition so I'm guessing they're just prioritising that

How...did Velle and I get dragged into this? We don't even have anything to do with the forum other than answering chat related stuff.

Also sweetness if you have ever taken a look at the forum you will see large amounts of "why is my story still pending?!!" posts...it can take some time so...here is me being the bad guy and saying calm your tits and wait. You are not the only one who has had an issue I mean looking below there is 5 threads in the similar threads list with the same complaint. So yeah...Lits not perfect but it is by far one of the better sites of its kind with a larrrrge population that submits things.
Sorry, Sunny. I'm the one who dragged you into this. Just wanted to poke you and my other favorite Lit mods.

Ok, I'm officially losing my mind. I submitted a new story yesterday and it got published this morning. Yet the two stories I'm having issues with are pending since the 2nd of February 😭

That's why I asked if I should resubmit my chapters. Last year, I had a chapter stuck in pending for like a month but when I resubmitted it with the next chapter at the same time, they both got the "New" tag within 12 hours.

Sighs ok yeah I am done with this because despite writing things apparently reading is not something people do. Good luck to the forum mods you are lovely people and have far more patience than I do... I am off to deal with people taking tantrums about being banned because no is not a word in their vocabulary.

At the time of writing, I have a series with 22 chapters but 9 of these are stuck in pending because the mods refuse to take a look at them since late December. When I asked about this in the forums, people said it's likely because they have to focus on the submissions of competitions. What competitions are still on right now and when will they end? When should I try to resubmit my chapters? Just because as I've seen, sending a PM to Laurel is totally useless because I already did it twice in these two months with no result.
I sense a good spanking coming here. Smart people don't piss off the cook.

has anyone actually had any stories approved in the last week or so. I've had stories waiting since January too. I submitted another one today and now have 3 in my pedning folder. If there is a big backlog it will take a long time to clear otherwise they'll end up flooding the site if they just open the flood gates and mass approve all these stories...
I submitted a story a couple of weeks ago and it was published very quickly! I am fairly new to this site however so I’m still learning the ropes as it were! I had two waiting in pending and one of them was published the same week. The second is still in pending. I’m assuming it’s a waiting game for everyone! People just need a little more patience <3

Patience, people, PATIENCE!!!
Nothing creates bad feelings than expectations that exceed the ability to respond to demand. Mezu has probably 'toasted his wheaties' by complaining so much - in fact, if it was up to me, he'd be waiting longer because of his negative rants.
If you're PAYING for something, then you can DEMAND performance - according to and depending on the contract. But I think this is different. It operates based on the performance or people who are NOT PAID to perform at a specific rate.
This is just like a balloon - push on one side and it gets pushed in; but watch out on the other side because, ready or not, it just came your way; NOTHING gets away without dealing with that situation.

My submission got rejected for length and now I have increased the length of the story, but it is still pending
