No offense guys....BUT
WTH is wrong with some guys. Twice the past week I have had to literally defend myself from verbal attacks from 2 different guys. 1 just a few minutes ago when I dropped off my truck at the shop to get the oil changed & the new water pump looked at cause I smell antifreeze. This guy didn't like that I pulled into the bay behind where they were working on his jeep. He rudely told me to move cause they were almost done with his jeep. I refused & told him the 2 minutes it was going to take to drop my keys were less time then him standing there telling me to move. Then he starts in with more crap so I told him to stop bitching at me so he called me a bitch. So I told him it was Ms Bitch to him & get away from my door. I let my friend know who owns the place to let the asshat know he needs some manners. Thank God my ride was waiting on me so I didn't have to do the stare down with him.
a week ago the other jerk (head of our CERT team) tried to push me (I'm handicapped) into doing some stuff I physically was not up to doing at the time. No means NO but he felt like it was all right to bully & push at me in front of the team 4 times to tell him No. Then he called me the next day to chew me out, called me names & told me I was "so mean" & that I had "degraded him & demeaned his authority" in front of the team. Minority speak that if I was an employee meant strike 1,2 & 2.5 to firing me. So I quit because as a handicapped person I was standing up for myself & I will not deal with harassment. My family told the Fire Chief who already knew because Mr. Personality had called Chief to tell him I was a nasty yaddah yaddah. So apparently what my family & I told the Chief was different then what Mr. Personality's story. It's generally frowned on to bully & harass any handicapped person. If I quit then Mr. Personality had a huge list of things I needed to do vs all the people who are part of the team & never show up to meetings, events or turn in their equipment. So I'm not "quitting" but I am going to join the ones who never show up or do any work. I'm back to working directly for the city & Chief can have me for hurricane calls & whatever directly.
