More Random Thoughts

This is the time of year when I wish I was a basketball fan. But it's just not there.

why am I supposed to be the bigger person?

The Volunteer coordinator (who is well aware I'm handicapped) for our first responder support team repeatedly bullied me (in front of the whole team) trying to make me do a refresher search & rescue drill with the group Monday night when I was having hard enough time just trying to stand. I worked the whole Saturday event outside on asphalt with the team (he worked an inside event instead). I said No around 4 times but did my normal job = to listen to the radio feed & take notes. I did that.

BUT Tuesday morning he calls pretending to care if I was ok (a first) & then uses minority language to complain I was really mean & horrible to him Monday night (by saying No 4 times) and I degraded him in front of the whole team (standing up for myself). Then he started calling me names comparing me to a very nasty woman here in the village who is in line to get into legal trouble for her behavior, bullying, harassment, etc & should have been baker acted or arrested a few times.

so I quit. and quite honestly why would I go back? There isn't anything to stop him from harassing me again. No one from the team stopped him & worse yet was him deliberately calling the next day to jump me verbally for standing up for myself. btw... 3 doctors & the BF are happy I stood up for myself & say don't go back.

Well done! You did absolutely the right thing. One thing I’ve learned is that employers don’t care if you push yourself to breaking point. If pushing yourself causes a permanent decline in your situation, they’re not going to come help you with the consequences!

I had a similar situation recently, where I got very sick on shift, and was refused time off/to go home. I was threatened with investigations and firings. I’ve developed an ulcer because of the stress I’ve been under, and now I put my foot down and tell them no if I need to, and place boundaries. I will not allow them to impact my health.

Well done for standing up for yourself :rose:

Now that CSI: Miami is cancelled, I'm sure we could dispose of a body, and no one would be the wiser. Just saying....
 
So, my cat hates the neighborhood stray. I'm sure if I let her out, there would be war. But it's funny watching her huff and puff about that other cat...
 
I think I went overboard on the long nail set. Typing is a pita!! Cut shorter next appt for sure!

Cooking is not an issue on the weekends. It's a matter of "someone" deciding what she wants, take-out wise.
