The last team that scores doesn't win a basketball game. The team that scores the most points wins a basketball game.

I’ve recently had an old friend get back in touch with me. It’s been close to three years since the friendship ended, and now I’m receiving daily communications out of the blue.

She betrayed me in how the friendship ended, and despite the fact we’d been close and spoken every day for 23 years - I just let her go. I didn’t try to get closure, didn’t try to find out why she did what she did, I just shrugged and carried on with life.

I don’t know how I feel about her reaching back out. I know I will never feel as close to her as I once did, but I’m just being civil, I guess. I barely resemble the person she knew three years ago - I’ve grown and changed so much since then, and she’s shocked at how strong I’ve become!

It makes me sad because if anyone from the past was to make a comeback, well I’d make a different choice But it also gives me a little hope that people do come around.

Random, half thought out thoughts! I don’t care enough to dedicate too much of my brain power to it. Just going with the flow!

Thank you. Honestly, I don't forgive her, but I’m not angry or caught up on it either. I just know to never depend on her! I think the most she’d ever get from me is acquaintance, but no real commitment after what she did.

It is hard to ever trust someone who you trusted completely and they threw it away. I do not envy you. Keep your guard up, but dare to hope I guess.
