I am here in Atlanta at a trade show and the young lady in the booth next to mine is extremely similar in appearence to someone I know from a company in California. I asked her where in California her company was and mentioned her resembelence to the other person. She told me and I asked her if it was near Chatsworth. Oddly enough SHE lives in Chatsworth. This reminded me of a time when I was at a store and this older woman (around 70ish) came up to me all hugs and smiles asking when I had gotten in and how my trip was. I told her I was sorry but I wasn't who she thought I was. She told me to quit joking, she knew I was her nephew Steven. I swore to her I wasn't and it took quite a bit of explaining before she gave up (with a strong look of disbelief on her face, she still wasn't believing me and I hoped her nephew wasn't actually in town, 'cause he was catch some serious shit for lying to his aunt!).
So after all this my question is have you ever mistaken someone for someone you know, or been mistaken for someone else and it proved to be embarrassing?

Nope. I got a lot of "You remind me of my daughter" in earlier days, but nothing concrete.

I think I'm generic.

Unfortunately, that was when I heard it . . .

Sick society, wasn't it?

AHHHHHHH!!!!!!
NO WAY!!! That is twisted. Was this turn on for him (her?).
I can see that as either being a huge rush or a deal breaker. Depends on your feelings towards incest!
I recently spent some quality time with a young lady who was extremely liberal. She was going through a divorce (at 21), she and her ex had had a mistress to share while they were together, but they let her go when she found him banging the mistress on a rather secret schedule. They moved on to a couple which proved to be a mistake.
Anyway, we got on the subject of guys she had been with asking her to call them "daddy" and she said about four had asked her to do that. I guess maybe its more previlent (spelling?) than I would think.

I don't think it's a matter of incest. (the Daddy thing) I think it's to show the submission. (i.e. you own me...you are my Daddy...its all yours) Not all men, but most that I know, and perhaps I seek them out, who knows, but most men seem to enjoy this. I have been with one that enjoyed me telling him how bad I was...how naughty...it was all for him...I was his slut, etc.

Whether it is because that's what I'm "accustomed" to, or just simply because it gets me off bigtime, that's my preference in men. strong masculine, take-charge "who's your Daddy?" type men. :)

Does this shed any light?

I guess there's someone in another town about 40 miles north of me that looks exactly like me. There's also someone with my same first name, and a different spelling of the last name, though it's spelled differently. So yes, I get mistaken for those 2 women.

I get taken for someone else all the time. Dunno why. I was never a drag queen in Casper Wyoming I swear!!! Okay, I did put on the dress, but still. In the mall when I was 15 this old lady swore up and down that I was her granddaughter. Who was 9. How embarrassing. She tried to haul me out of the mall by my ear. She said she was going to spank me when we got home, for lying to her. I started shrieking somewhere past the food court and was rescued by mall security near the arcade. I couldn't hurt an old lady, what an awful thought!

Killer...
15 being mistaken for a 9 year old, OY!!! Thats tough!
I do understand though and its amazing, people just get it in their head you are who they think you are and thats all there is to it. Pity the girl who looks like Daisy Fuentes, I would definitely drag her out of the mall!!!
Oh, and Southern, thanks for the explanation, I didn't look at it that way and thats what i love about this board, different views!!

I've done the old "see someone you know from behind, and grab there ass only to find out it's a stranger" thing, but that's about it.

Although this one time, I saw this old lady who I SWEAR to God could have been my Auntie Ruth. Only thing is she'd died a few years earlier. As I watched this lady getting out of a car with her family, everything about her was exactly as I remembered Ruth. Looks, Subtle body motions,... everything.

To this day, I'm positive that it was more than a passing resmblance. I don't know how or why, but I think that this woman was Ruths long lost twin sister. Seriously. I don't know if I did the right thing, but I never said a word to anyone who might know. I guess I didn't want to rip this womans life apart. But it sure made me think.

Many moons ago, a friend and I convinced a bar owner that we were identical twins born six months apart and adopted by different families. It wasn't really all that hard to do, becuase she could never keep us straight.

Really rather strange, because other than being roughly the same height and hair coloring, we looked nothing alike.

In high school, I had a friend who the teachers always confused me with. Other than those two people, I've never been mistaken for someone that I know, and never been in an embarassing situation because of mistaken identity.
