This damn pageant isn't doing much for my self-esteem right now- they're having the bathing suit competition right now and none of the women have even an OUNCE of fat on their bodies... :(

they are not real womne they are cyborgs made in order to sell products that real women do not need but will think they need in order to llook like the cyborgs

AARRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!

Stepford Beauty Queens!:eek:

Lol- if only that were the case.... (sigh)

it is the truth, it sounds like you have already botten into thier lies of;

"Why be you when you can be us"

Alright right now hold your chin up high and say with me ;

"I am beautiful, I am me, I am proud of Me"

say it with me;

"I am beautiful, I am me, I am proud of Me"

once more louder this time;

"I am beautiful, I am me, I am proud of Me"

Now repeat it 5 times with me;

"I am beautiful, I am me, I am proud of Me"
"I am beautiful, I am me, I am proud of Me"
"I am beautiful, I am me, I am proud of Me"
"I am beautiful, I am me, I am proud of Me"
"I am beautiful, I am me, I am proud of Me"

I was actually referring to them being cyborgs when I said "If only that were the case".

Lol- but thanks Todd- you sound almost like Stuart Smalley from Saturday Night Live :)

no fat is beauty???? quite the concept....but can they spell their own names...geez

They may be able to spell their own names, but their knowledge of American history is pathetic.

I can't believe that most of them didn't know the words on the Statue of Liberty or the first line from the Declaration of Independence.

They never seemed unintelligent to me.
I've never been comfortable with the idea that if a woman doesn't feel attractive enough she should make herself feel better by calling attractive woman idiots, then again I've always found attacking others to make yourself feel better evidence of poor character.

Idiots? Unintelligent? Obviously not.

But I stand behind my statement that their knowledge of US History was pathetic. ALL of them are college students and they do not know that the famous "give us your tired, etc." quote is on the Statue of Liberty or that the first line of the Declaration of Independence is "When in the course of human events..."

So being on a stage in front of a billion people, half of which are probably checking out your hooters wouldn't make you at all nervous and prone to forgetting little details like that?

I don't consider those "little details" at all. They are simple recall questions.

And after all the pageants they've gone through to get to this point, nerves can't be that much of a problem.

you know, as one who doesn't have "an ounce of fat" (as you put it) on her body, i'm getting a bit of an inferiority complex here...i mean, the words "idiot" and "unintelligent" have come up, along with "rattling rib cages", "no fat is beauty?", "cyborgs" and a reference to being unable to spell my own name...

the fact is folks, the lack of fat is as beyond my control as too much fat is beyond other's...i don't diet...i don't have a work out program and i'm certainly not anorexic or bolemic

and last i knew, i could still spell my name...let me try

S I G H

yep, pretty sure that's right

i'm just tiny...as in little, short, diminuative, leprechaunian...i kept growing until i was about 14, and then it all came to a grinding halt (and i was small for a 14 year old)

at least i'll never be concerned about having half a billion people staring at my hooters, mostly because i'll never be up in front of half a billion people for any reason, but also because with hooters like mine, all they get it a glance, and then they tell you you have pretty eyes...:)

this is not a bitch session, by the way...just a typical sigh ramble that should have stopped several (at least) paragraphs back

Thank you sigh, you've shown once again that reading my post is a luxury many do not have.

I didn't say anything about them being unintelligent- I was just stating that their appearances were ideal (at least, to me, they are) and I was feeling like crap because of it. I try to like and accept my body, but seeing women like that being paraded on stage make it hard to do so. I changed the channel, but not before it affected me.

GO MISS OREGON!!! :D

(this is the first time a contestant has won from Oregon in the history of the pagent)

*backing out of thread quietly*

The REAL Miss America.

I think they should have a contest on how well you delegate money towards rent, if you can hold a real job....you know things that really matter in the real world. I mean come on folks.... Shouldn't our Miss America be able to juggle a family, friends a full time job and household full of children.. instead of a friggin baton. But this is just my opinion. I think this "contest" is bullshit. I don't care about how a woman looks in her bathing suit... I care about how she feels. I think this contest is outdated and needs to either be revamped or just plain dropped.

Now, please no flaming... or whatever.. I don't have kids and I am not saying that all women should have families and children. I just think... if we are going to be giving out awards...Let's give them to people that really deserve them.

No flaming but there is another pageant for married women it just doesn't get the air coverage that this one does.
