I'm a city mouse..but I think ...I want to be a country mouse...

I moved from the city (Hollywood, no less) to the country ten years ago. Now I not only can hardly bear to go back into the city, I'm seriously thinking about moving further into the boonies.

rather be a country mouse. as in a different country.

I had a f'd up dream this morning that a mouse had gotten under my covers, and bitten my hand. It scared the bejesus outta me. :(

That is exactly what I am talking about. I want a life where people aren't is a bug hurry. Where they have time for each other. And the things that are really important in life mean something...

If a mouse got under my covers, biting my finger is the least of my worries, Lo :D

Country mouse for sure.... ah, the freedom of the outdoors with clean air and natural food......

It's seductive

But it is, in many ways, difficult. Many less "instant conveniences". Many more days of "nothing especially important that needs done".

But... more time for oneself, for simpler pleasures, for people.

Oh, yeah, and the one that hits most people hardest, often times much less pay.

It took me nearly all of the first 5 years to slow down. Now, going back to the city feels something like screaming along at Mach 2 with my hair on fire. I try to avoid it. So I've been thinking more and more of something in the "Four Corners" area, if I can find a job to sustain me there.

I'm a country mouse.

Moved out of Miami years ago and never looked back.

Hon, that's anywhere I happen to be.

I decided a while ago not to allow where I live to dictate how I live. I take things at my pace, and it all works out well.

Now if I had to be any mouse I wanted to be, I'd be him:

~handing lobito a very absorbent rag for the bejesus so it won't ruin his matress~

I'd be a country mouse. An urban mouse at the least.

My one apartment down town proved that I can't handle the people, traffic or the orange sky at night.
