How do you celebrate this holiday?

How come the birth of MLK is celebrated? The only other holiday we have celebrating the birth of someone is Christmas. Is MLK equal to Jesus or is it politcal pandering?

Okay, serious answer here. I don't do anything special to celebrate this holiday. But I don't do anything special to celebrate Presidents' Day or Columbus Day, either. I put all of these in the same category. Just another Monday without mail service.

Here, if I remember correctly, we don't actually celebrate President day. We have Lincoln's Birthday off instead... So we have three holidays celebrating individual birth.

I wish! Nope, I actually forgot today was a holiday, even when I got my paycheck early last Friday. Never dawned on me why. Then I spent time yesterday writing checks to pay bills, and I planned to send the mail today! So, no mail service means I need to keep track of that crap and remember to mail it tomorrow instead.

I'm sure the holiday is important to some people. But it really is just a day with no mail service OR banking business in my calendar.
