Mama Blu's

Mmmpf... mornin'. I hope everyone slept well and if ya didn't... suck it up buttercup. No whiners allowed 'round these parts. [laughs]

So I see we have a new thread. Okay not a 'new' thread, more like a version 2 thread. Anyway, it's the Irish Thread. Now I gotta tell you, I am such a damn sucker for the Irish. Mmm.. the accent, the humor... yeah I would like to say that I don't trust the Irish but it is mostly that I don't trust myself around them. ;)

However! I do have one or two Irish friends and bless their hearts, they tried to teach me Irish. Let's just say a woman with a southern drawl cannot seem to pronounce it well enough to keep them from laughing. After months of listening and practice, I can only say 'póg mo thóin' and I can pick out the word 'mo álainn' (I can't say it as I get teased for saying it like 'Holland' but I can damn well pick it out! [laughs])

So question for the day... do you speak any second or third language? And what language would you like to learn?

Sadly it seems that I suck at speaking a second language. I can somewhat read and write French, but have been asked never to speak it. I really would love to learn Irish. *sigh* pipe dreams and all that, ya know?

Blu

Evenin', everyone!:)

I speak a little French - took it in high school - but I read it better than I speak it. And it sure sounds funny with my tinge of Minnesota oooooo's lol!

I read music....and I'm proficient in sarcasm and profanity.

Beer please!!

Otherwise known as Standard American Beer-Drinkin' Redneck?

just kidding honey....hi Mr Wonderful!

Ummm... C! ;)

I cooked tonight. Broiled tilapia, asparagus and rice with a nice 2007 Spanish Red. Then 2 manhattans while watching the State of the Union address. I made them with Jameson's in honor of our Irish-American. President, Mr. O'Bama. Got to admit, feelin' pretty good right now.

Hiya sweetie!! Hey, minus the beer and you're not too far off....I embrace my red neck and long for the day I can move south and get out of this fucking snow. I was born in South Carolina and aspire to move back in my old age....

You're at Blu's...that's probably the most harmless thing you'll hear ;)

I could use a little of both.

Joy, I take you for a Corona with a shot of tequila on the side

Cover tonight: How old were you when you lost your virginity, and was it a good or bad experience?

I was 15, a long dark haired irish girl and it was terrifying and good :D

aaaah.....I was 15.....and it was awkward and horrible. His first time, too, and we had no idea what we were doing. And it was over pretty quickly.

Thank God I've figured out a few things since then ;)

I was 16. It wasn't horrible as he was experienced, but I expected to see fireworks and have some glorious moment. When that didn't happen, I thought it was a let down and didn't understand what all the hype was about.

Yes, please make mine extra filthy and dirty tonight. :D

One incorrigibly briny martini coming up. I'll even toss in an extra olive and a Roman Candle.
