Mama Blu's

*Chugs the second*
The pups need to be run.

Night, Mama Blu's gang.

I have a gang? Cool! Wait.. is this more like a Peanuts gang or a really cool, smokin' on the corner and lookin' all tough kind of gang?

Night Perks! :rose:

Sounds good. More Irish then coffee though.

So just a shot of whiskey with maybe a coffee bean in it for decoration?

And wow! SB, wanna be my back up bartender. I think you have a knack for it.:D

And Schwartz and Van... any mess you make, you clean up. And I mean with the strong chemically stuff! I learned my lesson fro JD. ;)

Cover Charge Tues 1/28

Mmmpf... mornin'. I hope everyone slept well and if ya didn't... suck it up buttercup. No whiners allowed 'round these parts. [laughs]

So I see we have a new thread. Okay not a 'new' thread, more like a version 2 thread. Anyway, it's the Irish Thread. Now I gotta tell you, I am such a damn sucker for the Irish. Mmm.. the accent, the humor... yeah I would like to say that I don't trust the Irish but it is mostly that I don't trust myself around them. ;)

However! I do have one or two Irish friends and bless their hearts, they tried to teach me Irish. Let's just say a woman with a southern drawl cannot seem to pronounce it well enough to keep them from laughing. After months of listening and practice, I can only say 'póg mo thóin' and I can pick out the word 'mo álainn' (I can't say it as I get teased for saying it like 'Holland' but I can damn well pick it out! [laughs])

So question for the day... do you speak any second or third language? And what language would you like to learn?

Sadly it seems that I suck at speaking a second language. I can somewhat read and write French, but have been asked never to speak it. I really would love to learn Irish. *sigh* pipe dreams and all that, ya know?

Blu

Nope, but I do well with most forms of English. The one exception would be creole, but I think most folks who don't know it struggle with that one. ;)

I took Spanish in HS but the only words I remember are the bad ones the foreign exchange students taught us. Ha!

I've never actually wanted to learn another language, but I would like to learn to read music. Someday, I would like to learn how to play the guitar and the harmonica.

Creole and Cajun are both very interesting dialects and I agree hard to understand until you get the handle of it.

So tell me Mr. Mimosa... when does 'someday' start?

Oh cool!

And you are welcome to the snow... in fact... have all of it. [laughs]

So have you ever been to Denmark visiting family and such?

Does culinary French count. Had to learn that as a cook's apprentice, so I do know how to read one of those expensive French restaurant menus and speak a little french.

Also speak a little Scottish as well, but Accents I can do no problem. Scottish, Irish, British (yes they are different) South African, and a few others badly.

(translation) Good Morning mama Blu,
Hope you rested well :)

I have been blessed to have visited Denmark on 3 occasions. Iwould love to visit again. I have a set of Grandparents, 2 Uncles and an Aunt there. And cousins I do not even know.

Right after I get these other irons out of he fire. ;)

I took three semesters of French which means I can say comme ci comme ca...

I speak horrible English and that is it.

Now beer me! I hate snow and wish to forget this day's adventure in it!
