LW is not your friend!

Well, scenario 2 is better if the aim is to win a contest, either yearly, monthly or special topic. But other than that, yes, I agree it's more rewarding to know the story found its audience, even if that means it also found its haters.

True, I hadn't thought of that. It's perfectly legit to want to win a contest for its own sake, although I see the real value of a contest as getting more visibility and gaining more readers.

Both of those terms are made up nonsense and I'm opposed to their use in any form.

I've only heard "Stags and Vixens" recently. What exactly does it mean?

LW developed its own subculture, probably years ago. I've posted there twice and, yes, one does get a lot of attention both good and bad. But I've gotten negative comments in other categories too, just not as many.

I never turn comments off. I want to hear whatever they have to say. Once in a while, the criticism is useful.

.

A stag/vixen relationship is one where the husband enthusiastically supports, and may even orchestrate, his wife's extramarital liaisons. There is no humiliation involved. In this way it's different from a cuckold relationship, where the husband is unwilling or where he is humiliated (sometimes for his own erotic pleasure).

another example!

There is a nice story in the Nude contest "Surprise Nude Day at the Spa'.......Obviously, DirtyGod18 didn't get the memo. Here are 2 comments -

"This is not the place. You and a lot of others, keep wanting to push your stuff on LW's.
Wasting your time and ours. Publish elsewhere."

Another: "Fetish author ( I'm confused 2 GF's go to a spa and get a massage and fucked and that's a fetish??) Fetish author slithers over from lesser site to add his pollution to the LW dump."

Wear your Big Boy or Big Girl Panties when you post to Loving Wives!

Think of it this way:

Scenario 1: Story A has 100,000 views, a score of 4.35, 200 favorites, and 30 positive comments and 20 viciously negative comments.

Scenario 2: Story A -- exactly the same story -- has 10,000 views, a score of 4.85, 20 favorites and 8 comments, all positive.

I don't understand why anyone would pick Scenario 2. In Scenario 1, you've succeeded in reaching out to a far greater audience of readers that appreciate your story.

I mean, not everybody enjoys getting "viciously negative comments", even if that comes with more positive comments.

You should read the comments from my latest LW. I acknowledge it might not be my best, yet I liked writing it. I had a good laugh at some of the comments. Other's just wondered what woman hurt them.

I don't think anyone does, except on occasion when one finds them amusing, which I sometimes do. The interesting thing -- not good or bad, just, to me, interesting -- is the extent to which authors weigh negative comments against other factors.

Living Rent Free in some peoples heads

I will peruse A.H. once every three months or so looking for the LW cry fest with weeping and gnashing of teeth from some snowflake author who got their feels hurt and the usual cast of characters from vultures row who join in on the screeching and squawking !
I swear it's the same people year after year ! Lol.
Only one missing is that Lovecraft guy , he used to lead the cheers , I hope he survived the Covid .
😉

I knew it. This is exactly what I always thought Chuck Palahniuk was talking about!

You get the feeling there are a lot of non-custodial fathers in that crowd.

It depends on how you look at it.

I like stag and vixen stories. Many readers do. The best place to get a big readership for those stories and many favorites and positive comments is Loving Wives, without question.

The problem is all the nasty comments and downvotes that go with it. You must expect that the score for your story will suffer, and you have to put up with trash feedback.

So you have to decide: Do you want to maximize your total number of readers, including readers who love your story, or do you want to maximize the score and avoid the bad comments? If the former, post in Loving Wives. If the latter, post elsewhere.

The way the "loving wives" people react to stories is a joke. We need a few more categories so we can all avoid that one entirely.

For reasons that have been discussed at great length on previous threads, this is not going to happen.

Probably correct in that I can't recall any category changes in my time here. Maybe they have added one or two.

I'm kind of new here and have only recently started posting my stories and some of the insight in this thread has me laughing so hard mostly because it's things I noticed that I thought were odd as well.
Particularly the comment where someone mentioned that some of these people respond as if the characters are real. I posted a cheating story about a married woman sleeping with her (also married) boss, and one of the comments was something along the lines of "I hope the whore gets HIV and dies a slow death!"

Like...buddy she's not real.
I was amused to say the least. ;)

It is a fascinating look into the minds of some readers, in an open-mouthed, surprised sort of way.

One lucid commentator came to my defense, after a series of mine got trashed for the usual reasons:

"Loosen up guys. It's just a story and a damn good one at that. Nobody's real wife got fucked. If you're so damn moral, what are you doing on a porn site? 5*"

You don't need new categories, just post anything cuckish in fetish and hotwife stuff in erotic couplings, if the husband joins in at all, or wife takes multiple lovers, group will work.

The way LW devolved over the years is too bad, long time ago there were stories written for fun and a positive spin on the fetish and there were great readers who enjoyed them, now the majority of the readers are trash and many authors choose to write specifically to fuel their hate, probably because those authors have the same hate.

At this point its not going to get better, and even if Laurel were interested in trying to sanitize it a bit in way of eliminating the hate speech comments or booting back more stories, she doesn't have time for that type of douching, and the decent authors and readers are far too much of a minority to try and make it better.

I have found in recent weeks that the LW turds are spreading further from the catbox.

I have a first time story that has done very well here. Its seven years old and has over 600 comments for years the comments were 99% positive with a few general personal trolls sniping about it. A rare "girls was a slut" but maybe a couple at most

Last month or so I've had several incel/LW comments

Gist is the guy is a virgin(sets off cold male insecurity right there for that type) his tom boyish best friend has had a thing for him, but never came forward and he is the typical oblivious 18 year old boy who is being strung along and used by the hot mean girl bitch who is putting out for everyone but him.

Of course she ends up being his first, etc...but the incels big gripe is she had sex with two boyfriends in the past because she wasn't going to wait around for him and both were boys she dated for several months, not just hook ups. So now she is of course a dirty whore and the boy is a "simp cuck" for even wanting that used up slut.

I guess I understand why cheating stories would enflame these idiots, but stuff like this?

They're a lost cause that never needs to be found.

now the majority of the readers are trash .

This definitely is NOT true.

The majority of LW readers are just fine, and they like these stories. The problem is the obnoxious and toxic minority. They leave horrible comments and give stories "1" votes and drive down the average scores, but they are the minority. You can see that from the many positive comments that get left with these stories even though the scores suffer because of the trolls. There is no shortage of Loving Wives readers who enjoy hot wife/slut wife/stag-vixen/cuckold stories.

Loving Wives definitely is the right category in which to publish these stories IF you want to maximize the number of appreciative readers AND you have a thick skin and don't mind some negative comments and lower ratings.

I think some of the readers, especially in LW, have a very limited emotional range and limited experience. As a result, everything becomes "something cuck something." It's the only way they can describe things.

Hole in your argument is they're not a minority. If they were this category wouldn't have endless threads dedicated to the growing toxicity of the readers. Obviously there are people that vote high, and the trolls bring it down, but....

If you look at the average score on this site its a soft voting site, LW is well below the average and that's not all from a minority, you can only vote anon once per ISP and I'm sure some will down vote from a couple of devices, but they're not doing it in clusters.

You defend it because you've posted there fairly recently. BTB inc...great example there. Also because I think that despite your name calling of the incel faction-usually laced with political slurs because you seem to think no one on your side of the political fence can be a woman hater or phobe, you have somewhat of a kinship with them.

Your long winded overly 'thoughtful' posts on many topics are the work of a bad liar, and I have seen you go out of your way to mansplain many things to women here in threads.

So I think your defense of the fanbase over there just further drives that home.

Circle back to years of threads about the cesspool of knuckle dragging shitstains over there aren't caused by a minority.

Tell yourself whatever you need to so you can get through the night as the saying goes.

Good point its like Groot in Guardians of the Galaxy....or the Hulk "Smash puny cuck!"

As my wife says when it comes to all the divisive issues out there today, when you make a deliberate effort to see something, you're going to see it.

A reader commenting on my last Mom/Son story said there should have been a warning for cuck content. There were no couples in the story, so I was left guessing at what "cuck content" he saw. I deleted the comment. He had to have squinted pretty hard to see the content he was complaining about.
