My last few stories within the past few months (in Loving Wives) have been 1-bombed within the first hours by my dedicated cadre of trolls. I don't know what time zones they're in. But if they're in the Western Hemisphere, they must be staying up late (for me!) Within the first hour and a half for one of my stories, it was at 1.17 with 6 votes! (It's now over 3.)

I revisited my WORST rated story (currently sitting at 2.21 since February with 657 votes) "Pavlov's Dog - 750 Words", and I expanded that wife's first person POV story to 5,500 words with "Raging Hormones" (and no, it's not about PMS!) "Wife talks to her husband about their sex needs."

So, in regard to the Loving Wives Trolls thread and some AH shit 1-bombing one of the other innocent authors there, I've decided to give the 1-bombers a heads up this time. It's going live tonight!

Give my story your best shot! Make it a career goal!

It's interesting. My first three stories, in Essays, were all scored in the high 4's when I checked at 5am MST. After discovery by the North American incels (that is a story for an other day), all three were in the low 3's by late afternoon

I checked my story "Raging Hormones" a half hour ago, and it was at 1.97 with 37 votes.

But the 1-bombers are a bunch of slackers, because it's at 2.07 with 42 votes now.

They'll need to work harder than that to keep it below 2!

Come on now! You can do better! (Or is it a lack of testosterone?)

All I got to say, is that if I hadn’t read the category description, I would assume it’s about husbands making love to their wives, not outsourcing it to the strangers.

Maybe that’s why there’s a disproportionate amount of trolls in the category - people just came expecting sweet in-marriage romance, didn’t expect to see cucoldery and adultery, and got triggered?

The category is about "extra-marital fun". EDIT: But it's mostly about the sex lives of wives, therefore "Loving Wives". If you're looking for a loving husband & wife story, try "Romance".

So, why do those who go there hate those fun stories?

IMO, they're readers whose spouse cheated on them, and they're looking for stories where the cheating spouse gets burned (Burn-the-Bitch, or BTB stories). And where else would they find those types of stories?

So, LW is the catch-all category for all extra-marital sex, whether consensual and fun, or non-consensual revenge stories.

This reminds me, believe it or not, of a news story I read many years ago about a local pizzeria vs. Yelp.

Yelp is not a nice company. It had back then (probably still has) a kind of "subscription service" that it wanted small businesses to sign up for. If they didn't, its algorithm would put any low reviews at the top. Basically a digital shakedown. The pizzeria had a loyal clientele, so it refused to pay. Up rose the Yelp version of 1-bombs on its Yelp page.

The pizzeria protested, to no avail, but then it hit on a brilliant defense: it put a sign up offering a 25% discount to any customer that gave it a one-star rating. The results were hilarious because the customers got creative with their reviews, making it plain that they actually liked the pizza. My favorite was a review that gave the pizzeria one star because, "It served the meatballs upside down."

Yelp hated it but couldn't do anything about it. Maybe with your next story you should ask readers to give you one star if they love it and five only if they hate it. Caution: watch out for exploding heads.

I already tried that "daring them to 1-bomb it" when I wrote "A Gathering of Trolls". I assumed it would remain below 2.0, because it poked fun at basement-dwelling incels 1-bombing writers. It's rating rose to 3.08!

They don't have to read a story to bomb it. Often, they make up their mind from the tagline or title. Bombs away!
The first three votes on my latest story were all 1s within 30 minutes of it going live . It was 30,000 words long. I can't help but admire those 1-bombers' speed-reading abilities.

"Raging Hormones" is now 10 hours old and has 5k views. It's at 2.55 with 141 votes!

W.T.F.??? Those 1-bomber slackers just aren't doing their part! They just don't seem to have the energy to keep up today. I've had better days than this, when they kept a story below 2.0 by this time.

Nah, I'm more than 95% sure it's a bunch of incels who've never been in a real relationship who review bomb. A guy who's been cheated on/divorced isn't going to want to relive the experience and, in all honesty, probably has way better things to do with their lives. It's the "never-launched" incels who have the time to conduct online crusades to cover up their own inherent lack of value.

Trying to make yourself a sacrificial martyr?
No, I just gave up on chasing a Red-H a long time ago, when some shitheads here in the AH 1-bombed my stories after a debate here.

If you get into any contentious discussions here with authors, there are some who will anonymously 1-bomb several of your higher-rated stories. And you know it's them, because what are the chances of five or six of your stories each receiving a 1 within ten minutes? (Someone has done that to my story list on at least two separate occasions.)

So, I just poke the bear, because their efforts to enrage me are impotent.

I don't chase it either. I was surprised I had got one, much less about ten on my other account. As long as I at least get four something, I'm good.

I don't know how you know it's someone from AH who's one bombing you if they are doing so anonymously. In fact, I don't know how you know they are anonymous as the system doesn't give any stats that us what is or isn't anonymous.

When there's a disagreement in a thread in the AH, and within an hour after that five of my top-rated stories (some of which were over a year old) suddenly all get 1's within ten minutes ...

And THAT happened at least twice, months apart.

If you check my AH thread "The Loving Wives Trolls", you'll see where I point out 26thNC as an unpublished alt for an author, who uses that ID to troll others. And 26thNC leaves flaming negative comments on other author's stories.

It might never happen to you or the other apologists here. But at least one author who had never seen that before had it happen to them recently, and PMed me about it, merely because he posted a comment in the AH and found several Red-H stories 1-bombed shortly after.

Those turds can use the author account, and alt, or even anonymous access to our stories and rate it a 1. I don't care which way they're doing it. But it's being done to people after calling notice to themselves here in the AH. And 26thNC admits to being an alt for an author.

This is why I posted this thread. I don't care if they 1-bomb my stories. Many of the rating are a fraud.

Sweep will wipe those. Funny people never complain about the 5's they'll get ten minutes after a long story drops. Human nature I suppose

I've experienced it. Some antagonism between me and another poster - not an author. My stories took a steady hit after every each exchange.

No they don't, not nearly always. I've kept an eye on my scores during the competition sweeps, and the scores barely shifted. Even after I submitted a story in the competition and a couple of people dropped 3s on about half my stories at intervals of a hour, those votes survived the sweep.

LOL. One of my recent stories received five 1s and a 2 within the first hour for a rating of 1.17.

And I haven't seen any drops in the vote counts for my stories for months, so I think the Admins don't bother to sweep mine.

EDIT: BTW, Admins, I'm not complaining or requesting a sweep. It makes no difference to me how many 1s they throw at me. I got over that "I'll take my stories and run" attitude long ago, and now just writing and posting here for fun.

When you say "not an author", ... you don't know that either, when 26thNC admits to posting violent BTB stories with a different account.

So, when we deal with any account here or in PMs or comments, just because that other has no published stories does not equate to them being a non-author. Anyone can create multiple accounts.
