What's happened with you, Papa Chained? You post a gay GIF and all of a sudden you're footloose and fancy free. The rod up your ass used to have a rod up its ass. Now you're all fun and joking about... *squints*

Where's the real Papa????

The new Papa is a little too cavalier. Something smells fishy. (That's a good set up for someone)

Sushi for lunch? I'm in. I'd have to say I'm addicted to that delectable delight ;)

Well, clearly the participation level is low, only a few faithful, and while the place will always stay true to its origins, Management only is required when it can't seem to keep things between the rails. No fear of that these days. Hell, I might need to fire up the third rail just to see if someone will grab it.

The thread wanders a bit but it always comes back home, just like us. We all enjoy our own versions of walking on the wild side, but truth be told when we come back "home" it's always nice. However, what that nice place called home is varies significantly. For some it might be their childhood home, for others it's a walk in the woods, while others might call home exactly right where they are.

What's "home" for you, how often do you get there, and do you feel it's tug on you strengthening or lessening?

How very ironic that this particular question was asked today...I was just thinking about this...:)

My "home" is just 10 minutes away, where I grew up. And yes, it's grip is slowly lessening. Since my Moms death in April, I feel a new era has arrived and that I am transitioning to now more my house as "home" than my parents house. It will be more reinforced next year when my parents home will be torn down....leaving no physical reminder behind.

However, right now 2 of my sons are now home for a week....visiting from out of province. They totally consider our house and the town we live in as "home" and have made reference to it several times since being here, even though our middle son hasn't lived here in almost 5 years. For them - we are definitely "home".

I think everyone has a place they call "home". Even if they only lived somewhere for a short time, it is usually where the memories of the best events in their life happened...or where they felt a connection with people, a house, a town. :)

We have a family cottage on a lake up north that absolutely feels like home to me. Every fiber of my being relaxes as soon as we round the curve in the road where I get my first glimpse of the water. It is my very strong desire to move up there on a permanent basis. As soon as possible. I think that cottage is my spirit animal. :D

My childhood memories, the places I have traveled to and met so many of my lifelong friends, wherever my kids are located. I hold my home in my heart..not in a particular geographical location. So..I guess I can truly say...Home, for me, is where the heart is.

Wonders if a question is asked but nobody answers does the question really exist? My hunch is that if a bear asks it counts no matter what. As long as there's some moss growing on a rolling stone. But what if...

I am pretty wander-lusty, so I don't feel big attachment to a geographical place. I do say I am going "home" when I go to visit my parents, but they are also wander-lusty (genetic?) and have a few different places they hang their hats.

Of course it exists...within the mind of the auestioner. A question does not require an answer to be valid. What if you were suddenly left all alone, no job, no money, no home, no friends...would you survive it or succumb to despair and just quietly fade away or would you put on your big boy/girl panties and rebuild a life for yourself...by yourself?

Wanders through for the late night crowd.

Over the course of time there's been lots of discussion on PDAs within the threads, so there's no point in going down that road once again. Instead, lets veer slightly and discuss whether or not you engage in any board banter with a play partner. Do you leave secret messages around the threads that only they know are meant for them? Do you openly have lit exchanges that unless you tip your hand too much, know one would be the wiser for what's going on. Or do you not engage publicly with your play partner?

I engage publicly most times. There is one person that I make some comments that were derived for secret PM's so I'm sure people are scratching their heads about.

I feel compelled to point out that since you reopened this thread you have been less inclusive of your readers who are not in your time zone..... Your late night was my afternoon.

(Edit)......Do you leave secret messages around the threads that only they know are meant for them? Do you openly have lit exchanges that unless you tip your hand too much, know one would be the wiser for what's going on. Or do you not engage publicly with your play partner?

In the past, because that's where my experience lays, I haven't left secret messages for playmates. There was someone here a while back who would post images, sometimes captioned, of which I knew some were directed to me. Those I would see and enjoy with a knowing smile. A few times I posted comments but nothing that would draw attention to our relationship. It wasn't so fun after we parted ways and I could see his posts directed at another... But, as with real life, we all move on.

I might have had a few flirtatious exchanges with playmates in the word game threads but no more so than with others with whom I've not shared private messages. I post on the threads for fun, not to advertise my activities. So, no public engagement from me. Not possible now in any case.

I think there's less head scratching than you think. I saw a question to a male blogger of erotic images on Tumblr asking after a female blogger...the male blogger was surprised at the question...he didn't think anyone had noticed...

I did once upon a time. Sadly I haven't had time to play in a very long time but leaving bits and bobs around the boards for someone is fun.

There was a day I would have posted something snarky related to the pushback on my being time-zone indifferent. Not this new, warm chainedup. I'm just going to assume that everyone can will use their local time stamp on the list and translate the salutation to time zone appropriate lingo. I use the "time of day" salutation to soften the initial part of my posts, no intention of being Insenstive to the rotating globe and different time zones it puts us all in.

In the real world we often have to change our actions because of how those actions are perceived. Even though we can be 100% correct, setimes we still need to change our actions to confirm a little better with societal norms.

But at lit, there seems to be more of a tendency for the "offended" to deal with it as the "offender" isn't changing.

So the question is, have you changed your ways here at lit as the result of receiving some sort of feedback, if so what compelled you to change your ways?

I used to be the queen of the PDA, however, lessons learned and all that stuff! :)

It was quite unbecoming, really. :D Although, I must say, the guy must've been a stand up gentleman!!!!

I can't say that I really leave secret messages for people. Sometimes I write things and talk about it with friends. But I don't leave little notes to people or anything like that. Perhaps when someone makes key stomach go flippy, I'll do that for them.

As far as feedback goes... My posting style or interaction style changes depending on where I'm posting. I only really post here and the GB. Interactions there are a bit different. Unless you're a member is ISIS, you're really not going to have anyone tell you anything over at the GB as far as constructive criticism.

You are oddly warm now, Papa C. It's almost... Endearing.
