At least I can remember who they are/were... I'm a lit slut aren't I? :(

Today's topic is about melding real life and Lit life. It's inevitable, what we experience in our real affects how and what we post here. Do you, as a Litster, make an effort to try and keep the two separate? Or do you freely bring your real life into Lit. My hunch is that married people tend to keep more of their real life out of their posts where single people are more likely to let real life slip into their Lit posts.

What's your hunch?
I'm somewhat guarded about what I post publicly, as I have others to protect and it would be foolhardy for me to write anything that, as stickygirl said earlier, I wouldn't say out loud in a public place.

I'm more open in PMs.
.

I've posted pictures of my dogs and Gracie's been a member here. I don't talk much about my extended family. I'd hate for them to read something I've posted about them. My radio show is available for people here and on FB, so that's intertwined. I've shared my biz stuff with a bunch of folks, too.

Some of us have even come to visit you two wonderful people!!! :)

As to the topic... AJ is exactly who I am in real life, I just generally go by the A part of AJ.

All of you has. :D

I agree totally with this assessment. :D

Well, for sure I'm

Lit as in life is all about perception. And over time those perceptions change.

What was one of your early perceptions of Lit, that over time you discovered had no merit?

But...I just thought of something.
I was very, VERY naive about the writing process here when I first started and posted a few pieces. I am now perfectly aware that the "volunteer" editors are not necessarily offering their "editing" services ....if you catch my drift.

Makes me a bit sad, really. I think some of us could potentially write quality erotica if coached properly.

I quit because the feedback lacked the grammar, structure, and content I was hoping for help on, and teetered more on the "Wow. Yeah! This got me hard!" feedback I would have expected from a teenager..

Hm, maybe we should open our own editor's club or something like that. There are quite a few literate people around here -especially here on Litiquette- who surely would like to read a story and give quality feedback.

Does the Author's Forum not have helpful threads for just that? That's what I assumed they do, although I've heard they're a tough bunch.

they are, but..
When you first submit a piece, you aren't directed to the forum...you're given an opportunity to scroll through an ungodly long list of "volunteer" editors arranged by what type if erotica they are..or are not- willing to edit.

I'm sure there are some very good ones, but, the few I tried apart from TWO...either didn't have the time to edit...didn't know the first thing about editing, or obviously just wanted to read the erotica.

I scared the SHIT out of one guy with a piece I wrote, but I was like...duh...did you even bother to read the category?
*really annoyed look*

Anyway, I got busy with RL and put down a few things I'd been working on because of lack of time and focus.

I remember teknight being a good editor. I've no idea about his behind the scenes 'skills' though.

I'd hate to think your stories have been stalled because of leg humping editors. I think Lakesailer edited also, but not for spelling. HAHA!
Now, now... there are places in this world for even the lowliest of God's creatures... :D

Just not sitting anywhere pretending to have half a brain...

Seriously?? (Better question: Why am I surprised?)

I don't know if it's married v. single who hide or share more of their identity. As a lady who posts her boobs all over this website, I do try to be careful about what I say publicly (eg, details about my real life, etc), lest I invite unwelcome attention.

I'd say SweetSam is typically a slightly more cheerful version of me, at least on my AmPics thread. SweetSam on the PG is pretty much me.
