Putting on my badge and adjusting my hat......

The Riles / All 4 Love exchange is exactly what this thread ISN'T about. Everyone here should feel free to post their honest thoughts with out fear of being personally "attacked". I will say that exchange, both parties guilty here, was pure GB mentality that quite frankly, doesn't belong here.

If you can't reply to a post without thinly veiled personal attacks, I encourage you to move along.

Readjusts hat and saunters out...

*salutes*

I expected people to be adults. Not for people to regress back to their high school antics, hormones, and general douchiness. It's not as cute as people seem to think it is. It's actually painful to watch in most cases.

And the GB is getting cut up a lot lately. I enjoy it over there. You need to ignore a few of the obsessive trolls that have found targets to follow constantly and spew their misery on. The threads do get derailed every single time, but that's the fun of it. There's never a lack of drama to entertain yourself with, and new threads and new topics pop up more often. For me, between the Playground and the GB, there's far more honesty in the posts in the GB.

The Playground's rule to play nice is fine, but at a certain level it does give the whole place a disingenuous vibe. If we're always having to guard what we say, we're not really able to have a truly honest conversation. Civility over substance comes to mind.

Well, to salute 'the right way' you have to straighten your back and push your chest out ... Of course the question if palm out or down is the right way still remains, but I think Chained (or any of our gentlemanly men) wouldn't concentrate on that?

I don't disagree with you, but I also recognize that most people come here after running from the GB. Sometimes folks just need to breath in the 3x purified air here. And when it comes to threads that are run with a "play nice!" Motto, I have the choice to stay or go. Now that doesn't mean I won't defend myself, but I also get that the snark doesn't follow the sign posted outside, and then I have to make a choice as to whether I want to let it roll off my back or take a hike.

The GB gets a bad rep here, just as the PG gets a bad rep over there. But look at the numbers that cross over - generally they are the ones who try not to engage in negativity in either place.

We try...

:)

The gatekeepers over there can be shocking. They're an acquired taste, that's for sure.

I guess we all gravitate to what we want out of this place. That makes Lit what it is.

And you do fine representing us "floaters" :)

I'm in a place in my life, actually I never left this place, where I refuse to take people very seriously. I have seen way too much disingenuous behavior both online and in real life. And, FOR ME.... key words.... for ME, the GB is too serious. Bottom line. If I wanted to have political discussions, discourse on IS and Putin and Obama, etc. I simply don't think that Literotica is the appropriate venue. I really don't care that an entire section has been devoted to it. I liken it to going to Mothering.com and starting a thread on how to suck hairy balls without getting hair in your teeth..... it's just not done.

Just like I'm not going to come on here and start a thread about child care and attachment parenting, or breastfeeding ( in the way it was intended to be discussed :) as opposed to the fetish) I question the motives behind those who do begin topics that ultimately -in my opinion only- have no place on an erotic literature site.

I have to agree with Riles in (at least) one thing.... R E L A X. Don't get defensive because someone doesn't express themselves exactly like you want them to. Walk (or type?) away.

In answer to the question du jour, I learned very quickly to have no expectations whatsoever of Lit. It's a sex site basically, but you don't even have to get into that if you don't want to, as there are plenty of other corners to play in. And just like in R/L, there's a gazillion types of people here. Rude ones, polite ones, people with exquisite writing skills, people who can't even string together a coherent sentence, people who are actually interested in other people, those who are only interested in themselves, people who want to get to know you on a friendship level before suggesting anything sexual, and those who want to jump in the virtual sack with the first PM. The only things I control are my own contributions and my reaction to those of others. If I'm not having fun or am not otherwise engaged with the exchange, I take my toys and go somewhere else for a bit. (At least, that's what I TRY to do!)

I figure they're mostly trolling for a fight. The dozen or so that engage in those threads have so much history, I'm not sure they know how to engage with each other any other way. And that's the risk when having an unmoderated General Board. It can easily devolve into monkeys tossing feces. I've added a few new insults to my arsenal from observing them.

Answer to the Hairy Ball Question: Buy your man a razor for Christmas. Nothing says I love you like a crisp clean nut sack and a blowjob. It's a gift for two.

Tip for BBB's new ampic thread: Before and after shots won't go wrong. You'll find out quickly which ladies like the bird nest look and which like the baby bird look.

I agree with this, especially the last part. Too much niceness makes me want to puke. Others may like it, but if the turned into a place where we're all supposed to hold hands and sing Kumbaya I would be out of here. There need to be room for different opinions and not everyone has to get along.

Just act like adults about it and it will work out. Besides I like saying outrageous things every now and then. Things that some might find offensive. I'm here to have fun and joke around and if I can’t joke around then I won’t.

Anyway Jon probably expressed it better, but I wanted to add to it and show my support. Show respect, but don’t let it hinder you from expressing your own view.

Solidarity, Brother.

If it's a naked Kumbaya circle, I think it's allowed, but I think they'd move it to Fetish's and call it a bukkake.

<<< Floater

When will your scrotal ampic thread be up and running?

There's a Show Your Balls thread already...on the GB. BBB has not posted.

lol...:D

Yes, there are political threads, but there is certainly much more than that to offer. I rarely delve into those, and even less so, post. Right now, there is a crapload of parody threads going on. Sheesh there was even a lovely pussy pic thread yesterday. That doesn't mean you mouth breathers go over there and leave slobbering comments.

Mr Jon got it right, discussion is appreciated. Faux niceness can only go so far, it just gets droll and repetitive. Honesty, albeit respectful...and fun is a nice change of pace.

No, not everyone has to get along, but everyone should feel they can contribute without being ridiculed. Sure, add some levity, challenge opinions and beliefs, enter into debates and explore areas of interest with others. But no one's views need to include opinions about others who post.

Play the ball, not the man.

(Refuses to change this to gender neutral language...)

Yeah, I agree with this. There's no need to be mean, but people can take offense even by comments that aren't mean. It can be a grey area, but dismissing people and calling them stupid is clearly crossing the line. But that's about respect for me. Show respect for the person, but don't take things too seriously either.

You are far from alone in this observation.

But change is inevitable as members go and new members arrive. I'm sure there have been many phases to The Playground over the years. It will continue to evolve. Although the declining numbers in The PG and I'm guessing in other fora is of concern.

Screw that. You are tres cool and I would happily have you sit at my table!

There truly isn't a person I have encountered who doesn't have something worthwhile to contribute. It's a shame some individuals feel passed over.

In all fairness I probably pass my sell by date in terms of entertainment after a week or so.

I find I'm quite good at stagnating pm conversations, without that being my intention.

With some people, they have been my friend since my very first day here.

You may just not hear people talking to you with that hood covering your ears. Adjust your antennae till you can hear better!
