Which leads me to my topic, how do you handle a post that in the moment was what you wanted to say but upon reflection and time you wish you hadn't. Do you let it stand, as is? Do you go back and edit, and try to change it's meaning? Or do you delete completely?

1) I watched Sharknado2 while playing one of the many Sharknado2 drinking games that was posted online. I was hammered before the first commercial break.

2) I will go back and either edit a comment if I don't think my thought was coherent or delete it if it was something I typed in the heat of the moment. If you can't say something nice you shouldn't say it at all.

Sadly I missed Sharknado 2. I didn't see the first one and I presume it's got an intricate plot like Lord of the Rings and I'd just be lost not knowing the characters and backstory behind the first Sharknado.

I don't go back and edit my posts. Not as a practice. Even it it's something I said that I shouldn't have, I'll typically leave it and take care of it later in the thread. For instance, I was in a really shitty spot one day. Someone made a post that I thought was directed at me. Well, I wrote a pretty mean, snarky post in response. It was undeserved and I was completely in the wrong. But instead of editing my post, I wrote an apology a couple of posts down. I made a mistake and I thought it was better to just own up to it, ya know? For me, editing it wasn't quite fair, as it sort of erased it. I made the mistake and I needed to apologize. I did so on the board and in private. It was completely my fault and I acted like a dick. I'd rather people see that. I can be a dick, but I can also apologize when I'm wrong. It's rare, but it happens people. It happens.

Given that this is a Judgement-free zone I'd like to mention that I now really want to see that film. OR Sharknado1. I suspect that I run the risk of missing vitally important elements of the plot if I jump in at the sequel, no?

The only time(s) I've ever done that have been those evenings where I've returned home from drinks with the girls, and posting on Lit has seemed like the most awesome, sensible and risk-free thing to do. Like, evah.
In the past I've simply done the mature thing and avoided post-stalking myself the following day - if I don't read it then it NEVER happened.

I can't say, as I've not seen them. I'm personally waiting for them all to come out in the Sharknado box set, collector's edition. I'm quite sure that this is one of those thinking man's movies. Like Inception or anything by Tyler Perry.

For a no judgment zone, I'm sensing some serious underlying hostility towards innocent sharks swept up in a natural disaster. Where's your humanity? I at least had the decency to DVR both movies so I could stock up on lotion and kleenex before watching them.


I'll edit if I see a typo that bothers me. I don't bother with sneaking back and changing what I've said. I've always seen those little slips by people as a way to see the real person hiding behind the sweet and sassy persona they're wearing.

1. Any movie with Judd Hirsch driving a taxi and just about everyone getting eaten by sharks save for Mark McGrath and Matt Lauer deserves to be watched. Watched and loved.

2. I use the edit function with unabashed frequency. I'll delete anything that, upon reflection, is either a typo or says more than I'd like to reveal. However, if some one has already quoted me, there's no point. If I really don't want what I've said out in the internet ether, I have asked the person who's quoted me in their post to edit theirs. I typically proofread my posts for typos before making live, but not always.

She's one of the finest actresses around. She's been in such greats as Sharknado and Sharknado 2.
