Quick question - did you jump right into posting on Lit or did you lurk for awhile first. And if you lurked, what was the trigger that got you to start posting. My hunch is that many of us lurked trying to get the lay of the land.

I lurked reading the stories.

I then found myself over in the AM pic section, that is where I first started posting. If you ever have been there you know that it's not hard to make a post. ;)

It was a few years before I made it over to the Playground

When I first found Lit, I started with the stories, then the chat, then came over to the board and hung around the Playground for a bit before responding. After taking a break for a year or so I visited some old friends profiles, sent a few messages, and looked around to see what had changed.

Definitely lurked. For longer than you might think.
At first, I didn't feel a need to become a member. Reading the stories met my needs. Then I felt like joining in with some of the banter in the games in the Playground and signed up. Just as I was trying to get the lay of the land, my PM box started to get mail. I didn't understand how anyone found me when I had yet to post anything. And I got distracted and somehow didn't get around to posting.:)
Making up for it now and having fun.

I came in like a bat out of hell. I posted a lot. My posting has slowed down significantly these days. I spend most of my time being a smartass with posts. I'm only a lurker if I don't want to get involved. Sometimes I do just enjoy reading the posts. But that's mostly for a place other than the Playground. The PG mostly offers interactive type threads. Nothing wrong with that. It's just that, for the most part, it's not exactly good or interesting reading. Although I was intrigued to know that a Lister spilling his coffee made him say "fuck" today.

Stories, then I discovered the board and started my AmPic thread.
I didn't find the playground till I got run out of the GB, I lurked for quite a awhile here, was gun-shy after the GB.

I think there's a ton of lurkers out there.

*Waves*:D

Count me as a lurker! Waves back..

And me :D

(Waves ) I am so glad that lurking seems to be a common trait upon joining Lit . I too stumbled upon Lit via the stories and then came across the PG . I do actually love reading the threads and this is one of my favourites.

The posts on this thread have made me smile, laugh ( in a good way :) and i have loved listening to all the advice and thoughts offered . So thank you .(I would insert a rose here if i could, but i haven,t a clue how to do one :D

Hopefully i will pluck on enough courage and start posting a little more around here.

Nope, no lurking for me. I always have to throw in my two cents' worth. I think I joined on May 1 and made my first post that night. I had run across a thread that made me think "wow, these people are dealing with the same stuff I am", and it was something I felt strongly about, so I was off and running. Before that I'd been on chat and somehow figured out that the forums were here.

I jumped right in, always been one to leap then look

Having said that I did find the boards via the stories first route :D

I had been posting stories here for almost a year when my husband accidentally clicked on the "bulletin board" heading and said, "Hey, you have messages on here." I never even knew the boards were here, and some days, sadly, I wish I had never discovered them. I got flamed almost right away when I finally did start posting. It's a wonder I persisted, really.

Really? That kinda sucks :(

I too started with the stories and read them a long time before I realized there was a board here too.

I had been familiar with V-Bulletin type boards in the past so once I found the playground I just posted immediately...I wanted an AV so I began adding to my post count in the threads that asked an ongoing question or were interactive in a way that you didn't have to rush to beat the next poster's post to answer the last person. Even today, I am usually a post behind in those threads.

I can't even remember how I found the playground...I mean come on it's listed under Literotica Personals...what made me click on that I now conveniently have no memory of my thought process.

It is always a bit strange to just start posting but I have never been one to shy away....either post or move on...and the playground had too many opportunities not to post. I have met so many great people on here by letting friendships just develop through posting instead of trying to force conversation with people in the threads or in private when I was new.

These days I would say I might lurk more than I ever have. There are a lot of great threads going that I enjoy reading but it would just take all day to contribute to them all.

Stories first....even thought of writing some since I am good at that sort of thing *buffs nails*

Then went to GB.
I held my own in there despite being a newbie. I didn't take shit from anyone.

Then a very kind person (FakeASmile) told me about PG.
So I went there to check it out and I've been a great source of your amusement since...

:D

Someone gave me the link to Lit stories years ago.
For the first year - or so - I just read. And read, and read.
One day I stumbled across the forums.
I lurked in the bdsm section for a good while before I found the playground and started posting.

Sometimes I wish I had the self-control to be able to lurk; But this posting malarky is addictive. :D
