Or....you' re both reading too much into the natural ebb and flow of a thread.....don' t worry, it' ll pick up again, always does.

Happy Tuesday! Yesterday I made a comment about being rusty with my topics and ine reply was to not worry, just part of the natural ebb and flow of the place. And yesterday did seem to be a slow day at Lit. But I think it also feeds off itself. If something fun is going on we tend to jump in. If it's slow and boring we tend to stay away. It usually takes a person or to to be that ignition, that spark. Do you wait for that spark or do you try and be that spark?

I'm a "let someone else go first" kind of a girl on here. I'll join in on the fun if I have something to say, but typically don't light the spark myself.

I'm like that too . . .

. . . well, except that I'm not a girl!

I'd love to be able to provide a spark myself, but generally I try to play off other people's sparks. :)

I am glad you are back Chained.
As far as the threads go, I do not post that much to initiate a spark..though I tend to provoke at times.. If there is no spark yes I would try to set a fire, but I do not frequently do it.. I mostly hunt..:D

It depends on the day, sometimes I can't help but be a little sparkly :D

For the most part, no. Sometimes the things I say will start a spark. If someone said something with which I just completely disagree, I may well cause a spark by posting my point of view. I don't really try to ignite old threads or something just because it is a boring day on lit.

I will say, however, that there were a few How To threads from days past that I really enjoyed and followed closely. I was anticipating updates and sometimes I would try to spark those, because I was curious about things.

I'm not so sparkly. Glittery, maybe, but I tend to not be the one who initiates discussions around here.

Unless it's about hockey. ;)

Not sparkly my ass!! *pounce.*

I generally just do what I want. If it sparks conversation, great. If not, I still had fun. I don't go out of my way to be or do anything specific. I just goof around here and try to find some joy. :D

I just post when I see something interesting or if I feel I have something to add. If not I just go to the Yard and post images :cattail:
Though I have at times hijacked or joined the hijack of a few threads for giggles :D But I don't see myself as the Sparkee

I hope everyone enjoyed a fantastic weekend. This place was certainly lively, even with me whipping out the sheriff's badge. And no, I won't whip just anything out ;)

We are all drawn here by the pervy nature of the place. Whether it's direct pervy or innuendo pervy, we all like it. But what if the rules changed and this was a G-rated, no naughty, type of place. Would you change with it because of the friendships or would you bolt for pervier pastures?

As others have said before: I would certainly stay in (perky) contact with my friends on other sites or by PM. Lit would lose quite some users though if all posts should suddenly be G-rated. If gyrated would be too much of a good thing it might get kind of dry here ...

It depends on the amount of time I have at my hands. A spark needs to be tended, otherwise it ends in a little bit of smokey air. As for now, alas, I don't have much time to plant sparks and I tend to look for little fires to jump in, or around. Or over.

So if none of us are the sparks, who the heck are they?!?!

I think we're all part of the sparkling, whether you think you are or not. It takes more than one person for a spark unless you're incredible narcissistic.

This makes me think of my high school AP European history class. My friend and I were being little shits while my teacher was reviewing material for our upcoming test. He got frustrated and said, "Pmann, how do you plan to pass this test if you sit around talking all day?!"

I told him not to worry, that I didn't need his review, as my friend and I had a plan.

Knowing a smart ass comment was coming, he couldn't resist. He was a really cool teacher. He asked what the plan was.

I said, "I've decided to forgo studying for this test and just memorize the lyrics to Billy Joel's 'We Didn't Start The Fire'."

I found it hilarious, as did my friend. Even my teacher had to laugh. He told us we didn't have a chance. He was right. Hehe. I didn't pass that test.

I think he failed you on purpose. No one wants to be made obsolete by a four minute song. It could've revolutionized teaching.

I think you are correct, we all help with the spark in some way, even if we are not the one to originate it. If we comment then we keep it going and help the spark turn into a flame! :D

And yes, I am a spark! If I see a thread that I have enjoyed starting to die out, I will post a comment and see if I can help revive it. It doesn't always work, but at least I try. Like when Chained went away, I didn't want his thread to go to the fifth page or further back, and no one was posting, so I decided to ask a few questions to help keep it up towards the first couple pages at least. Some helped and that was awesome. One person even gave me a question to ask when I had run out! :D
