What a wild day yesterday turned out to be. Feeling bad that Jenny's topic came so late in the Litiquette day. I definitely think we all carry a Lit personality that's different than RL. sometimes Lit seems so much simpler. Walk in, say what you want, walk back out. But RL doesn't work that way. I've never woke up in the middle of the night thinking about Lit, never gotten nervous wondering how a Lit chat might go, never had to undertake something unpleasant because it was part of the Lit deal. With the long weekend, wouldn't it be great if RL was as simple as Lit?
I don't worry about the interactions much, except for those times where a conversation is cut off before both sides reach understanding. I just try to be real and let the rest sort itself out. But I do find that I spend time thinking about friends' problems or situations, just like in real life, so I guess in that sense Lit life is real life: friends are friends.

Following up on the question about being conscious of how others see you - I know that occasionally I will start to post something and catch myself thinking "Oh, no, Jenny wouldn't say that!" as if Jenny was a whole different person from me. I think I'm myself when I'm posting, but there's part of me that doesn't come out. I wonder if others curtail their posts sometimes because it doesn't fit the Lit side of their personality.

Not in the slightest.

I remember, for perhaps the first year or so, being very conscious of what I posted. I stuck to random comments that I assumed were funny, and opinions that weren't necessarily my own.
Over time, I've become more relaxed.

I'm more inclined now to post what I actually think and feel, as opposed to what I suppose others expect to hear from me.

I'm well aware of what the general Lit population think of the Alice persona, but really, there's so much more to me than just the bitch. For instance, the other night someone called me Cunty McBitchtits. See? So much more than just a bitch.
Be all you can be, people. :D

Cunty McBitchTits? I'm pretty sure Litiquette-ville wants to hear that complete story ;)

The whole story, that's another rarity in Lit. Meaning how well do people share of themselves here? Do you share 20% of who you are? 90%? For me the missing part is by omission not deceit. I may not tell you "everything" about me but at least the part I do is honest. (I suppose if I was not being truthful it's not like I'd say it ;) ). Apparently my brain is all over the map. Pic a morsel and go!

Everything I share is truthful. I never share everything.

I tend to share what I feel is important, like that I am married. No deception there. But I am fairly closed about other things.

I also think it's quite interesting about how we are perceived by others here. I had a PM yesterday from someone I don't know well, but we have gone back & forth on threads. He thought that I was much younger than I really am. Does one try and come across younger if you are older, or vice versa?

Now that you ask -- Nope. It's the Popeye philosophy: I Yam What I Yam.
As for revelatory matters -- nope. Not here. This is, after all, The Playground. If you are not smiling -- then what I have put out there didn't tickle your funny bone. Or whatever bone you really want tickled.

Apparently Saturday afternoon is not good for deep thinking. So it's now a free for all Saturday, no rules, no limits on what goes on here until Sunday morning. Have fun but be safe ;)

It is annoying when that happens. I'm starting to accept now that PM exchanges may suddenly go dead for reasons that probably aren't anything to do with me. I don't tend to chase them -- it just seems to be part of Lit life. :(

I'm sure that we've had a few interactions, and I honestly don't recall thinking anything like that.

I'm with GiggLeGasm on this:

Everything I share is truthful. I never share everything.
Quite simply, it would be far too complicated for me to lie (and then have to maintain that) even if I wanted to. However, I draw the line at sharing any information that might, say, put my family at risk.

I aim for a pact with my Lit friends that we may ask each other anything that we want without causing any offence or regret, as long as a reply of "I don't want to say" also doesn't cause any offence or regret. It seems to work.

I've had several approaches by PM that suggest that the sender hasn't even bothered to open my profile, where my age and other vital information are clearly displayed.

That's a pretty broad statement! this could be fun! Lol

Depends - sexually speaking, I share nearly everything, but personal details I share very little. I'm open about being married and having a family, and the general vicinity in which I live, but that's about it. And I'm talking about what I share with the masses here, not what I discuss with the few close friends I have here.

Total pet peeve. I usually get "hey baby u r hot r u married" Why should I bother responding if someone can't at least read my short profile? And don't get me started on lack of punctuation and capitalization. . .

You respond to PMs sometimes?

* Scrambles to memorize her profile *

Risky.... :D
Have a good weekend, Chained!

Ahhhh, give it time. ;)

I'm here to laugh, flirt, play and be silly.. I only share the rest of me with a very few off the board. Other than sexually, i'm rather private.

I don't mind sharing some things about me with some friends here but try to keep some stuff still private

I am the same. It seems I have met a few that I let in on a bit more then others. In general I just share small things about my offline life.

Hi, all...hope I'm still allowed to drop by and lurk on the litiquetters....or whatever the hell that word should is!!

Wait, what was the question??
