Hi, all...hope I'm still allowed to drop by and lurk on the litiquetters....or whatever the hell that word should is!!

Wait, what was the question??

Hiya Ella!

I hope we can lurk because I tend to lurk more than post.

I'm amazed - here Chainey has given us carte blanche to rum amok and talk about anything we want, and no one's talking about anything!!

I don't share much here, though everything I share here is who I am...a very small handful know more of me. I'm privileged to be on the receiving end of that with a couple of people here, people I consider 'friends' and don't think of as 'lit friends'. :) I've always said that was the biggest and best surprise of this place, the few that have crossed over to real life and whom I count on, lean on, and care about without anything to do with Lit.

This.
You find friends in the most unusual of places, eh?

Those people "whom I count on, lean on, and care about".
I've had a few of those over the years. And I don't mean anything vaguely cyber-ish or luuurve-ish or owt like that (sorry, rumour-mill). I mean friends. People who've known more about me than my closest friends IRL.
People who I've comforted, and been comforted by.

I've shared too much of myself, without doubt.
It's not worth it.
*shrug*

There was so little "amok", I don't even have to bother cleaning the place ;)

Many spoke of the how pleasant it's been that Lit friends have become RL friends. But there's also the flip side, those that get a little piece of your RL and then dig and dig and show up in RL on their on accord, uninvited.

Definitely difficult to deal with.

That definitely would be scaring! And the reason I do share a lot (even more in private) but certain things are off limits to even my closests (why does spellcheck say that isn't a word? close, closer, closests seems logical to me ...) Lit-friends until they would become real life friends.

It's heart-warming to hear that this is possible. That hasn't been the case for me yet, although I don't see any inherent reason why it couldn't happen.

*sad face* :(

Fortunately, that hasn't happened to me. I have carried out one action that has had a (positive) RL impact for another Litster, but that was entirely with the prior knowledge and approval of the lady in question.

Looks in. So how many of you sneak in and check Lit with family and friends around. I'll start the count - 1

true - I live alone also so don't have to be sneaky

when at home with family - which lately hasn't been much - I just don't get on until I go to my room at night.

Oh how I love a three day weekend. I'm curious, besides it being a National holiday in the States, and many of us not having to work, will you do something specific to honor the day? Or is just a day off and time to go do something fun?
