Tosses a bucket if ice water in the room, seems like it might have gotten over heated. Added bonuses, wet t-shirts and hard nipples :)

*sigh* Once again, by the time I catch up with what's been going on in here the last day or two, the party's over.

Then perhaps it's time to start a new party. May I pour you a drink while you select from the vast array of topics in my collection? ;)

mmmmm, a nice pinot grigio would be loverly, thank you!

Do you have a catalog of topics I could browse through?

Picks out one of Oregon's finest for her, slides a catalog of topics along with her glass
mmmm *sniffing, swirling, and sipping* very good! (OK, now I really do want a glass of wine...)
My, you've checked off an awful lot of these topics. Cliques, priorities, skipping people, pm's, real life vs. Lit.... Any others that particularly make you wonder? I'm not very good at coming up with these myself. When you ask the questions, I always think, "yeah, what about that?"

I'll let you in on a secret, most times the question comes out as I'm typing. Very rarely do I have a topic at the ready. So go ahead, type one out.

Following up on the question about being conscious of how others see you - I know that occasionally I will start to post something and catch myself thinking "Oh, no, Jenny wouldn't say that!" as if Jenny was a whole different person from me. I think I'm myself when I'm posting, but there's part of me that doesn't come out. I wonder if others curtail their posts sometimes because it doesn't fit the Lit side of their personality.

NoNoNo. I don't hear crickets...I hear brain gears grinding.

For me, in the RealWorld as in Lit, I usually "speak" without filters. If I were to pause & thinkthinkthink about it...as I am now...my concern would be someone from the Realworld might recognize my way of "talking".

*blows kisses to LoverlyJennie*

So happy to see perky around! :rose:

It wasn't your turn to post a picture to guess. If one guessed a picture correctly then it was now their turn to post one.

So now I'm lumped in with assholes?

Got it.

lol...of course not. I was jus messin. You knows I lurve ya.

What a wild day yesterday turned out to be. Feeling bad that Jenny's topic came so late in the Litiquette day. I definitely think we all carry a Lit personality that's different than RL. sometimes Lit seems so much simpler. Walk in, say what you want, walk back out. But RL doesn't work that way. I've never woke up in the middle of the night thinking about Lit, never gotten nervous wondering how a Lit chat might go, never had to undertake something unpleasant because it was part of the Lit deal. With the long weekend, wouldn't it be great if RL was as simple as Lit?

Here's a bit of catching up before I move on to the new topic...

Mindfondler, I listened to your bio earlier today. :D I enjoyed it immensely--how very clever of you!
I'm very glad that you enjoyed it! Thanks for letting me know. :D

I'm considering adding some new audios and photos soon (currently awaiting inspiration!).

But seriously, I think I've avoided posting because I think I'm perceived as being rather frivolous and superficial, and this is a Serious thread.
I enjoy your silliness! I can be just as silly myself, but I need a bit of coaxing to bring out that side of me.

Everyone needs to remember that we were all newbies once. You have to be respectful and welcoming. .....we are not the GB.
I wandered into the GB once in the expectation of finding people who were generally bored. I backed away slowly when I heard the sirens and saw the pools of blood.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, I came here looking for eros and I found agape...
Kudos to you! :D

and I still don't understand it :D Must be a whole in my classical knowledge I think
Pssst! ;)

Meh everyone gets skipped at one time or another or you kill a thread. It happens to me often I just :D
I usually just shrug and move on, but occasionally it irks me when I've made a special effort to contribute something worthwhile to a thread. When that happens, I feel discouraged from doing the same again, even though I know that I shouldn't feel that way (obviously it's possible that people have appreciated my posting but haven't felt motivated to respond to it).

I think that sometimes being skipped over is caused by people like me....the slow slug who clicks on the quote button and by the time I type out what I have to say and hit enter..one to four people have already replied and not only is my post way out in the middle of nowhere...
Ah... I wasn't referring to accidental skipping. It's usually obvious from the timing of posts when that has happened. I'm thinking of instances when the skipping occurs after a long gap.

The passing over people is fairly common. Get six dogs after the same bone and you're gonna see some fur in the air.
I think you've summed it up! That was the point behind my earlier comment about some Litsters brazenly pursuing their own agendas. It makes me dispirited because I don't want to be one of those dogs.

I sometimes abort a posting when I realise that it's a such a rambling and incoherent mess that it would waste the time of readers. I often abandon my whimsical attempts at humour due to fear that they might fail to cross boundaries (or could even cause offence). I don't usually try to change my own style, though, as that's the essence of me.

Edit: Ironically, my posting here has inadvertently skipped the latest question from ChainedUp (click) on the previous page. I'll consider it myself a bit later. :)

Since I started out a member <tee hee... member> I'm not sure- would there be any benefit to joining just to read the stories? If there is, then I could see someone just doing that, then maybe venturing over to the forum for a quick peek.

I joined to read the stories and slowly ventured out to some of the forums. Reading the stories allowed me to see there is a lot of variety out there and slowly I began to comment on the forums. For me it mostly a comfort level. Quiet and shy in real life so Lit allows me to slowly break out of a shell.

I am pretty much the same here as RL...but the naughtiness comes out more here.
I do agree with you though, Thandi is my bad girl side.

I think my RL personality is fairly close to my Lit one. I never really thought about being someone different. For me, it's mostly a mood thing. When I'm in a bad mood the delete button gets hit more often. There's no reason for me to suck someone else into the mud. When I realize Lit isn't cheering me up, I come back another day.

T'anks, MetalMan.

Well...are you furry? cuddly? walk on all four? is your nose cold? ARE YOU HOUSETRAINED??????

*scans forms & hits send*

In places, absolutely, I have, nice and warm, most definitely......

Signs form and sends it back ;)

Wouldn't it though? I think that' s a huge part of the appeal of websites in general, and certainly this one. A simple click of a button, *poof*, asshat deleted.
