Hi to MausAss, Blues, Thandi, Wild_Honey_66, pmann, Violetvixen1, SweetSam42, stickygirl, LondonSnap, FakeaSmile, ydahecnot, lakesailer_mi... and anyone else that I've missed over the last couple of pages of posts. :)

I'd like to pick up on a few points (not ignoring the rest!):

First, I'm not sure if you consider me part of a clique or even know how I am. I do like to post with some people, but that's because I know it will be fun so the bar for me to post with them is lower.
To me, that's not the same as a clique. I've been in bars where the welcoming spirit of people who enjoy each other's company is a big factor in encouraging me to join in with them. By contrast, a clique has a deliberate insularity to it.

I have found this group here in this thread to be a good group of people who aren't really cliquish. I have only seen one or two people in this thread that I actually know but I feel like everyone here responds rather well to posts, regardless of their author.
I'd agree with that. I don't think I know any of the regular posters on this thread beyond finding them on this thread. Perhaps that's one reason for its success.

In the meantime, those who've felt ignored or slighted, hopefully you'll keep on trying. It took a very long time for this introvert (don't laugh guys, I swear it's true) to find her place on the playground.
Hey... please teach me that! :D

And the ignoring people/skipping over posts sucks. Makes me feel like that wallflower in the 7th grade again.
I've accepted for some time that certain Litsters will pursue their personal agendas to the exclusion of other niceties.

And "Hey!" to all of the lovely people between you and I. *waves up ^^^ *
Hey back at you! *tickles down vvv* ;)

I am not sure if it's clique-y, but I feel on the outside of it, as my posts are about the only thing that knocks it to the second page
Heh... I know that feeling too! It usually arrives after I've unleashed a posting that I imagine to be so brilliant and hilarious that people might mistake it for one from pmann. I'm put back in my place as the tumbleweeds roll past and the thread sinks into embarrassed oblivion. ;)

Hey MF :)
Meh everyone gets skipped at one time or another or you kill a thread. It happens to me often I just :D

When one mentions that their posts are passed over or ignored, are you meaning like in threads pertaining to someone above or below you? If someone is ignored in one of those, as per the rules of the thread goes, I might ponder this for about 15 secs: either they are assholes or they have me on ignore. It's all meh to me.

Or are you referring to a random, blurty, no subject thread? Is there an unwritten rule that one is to comment on something one posts, if there is no moderator? If I post, it's usually to the comment made not necessarily the author of it.

I guess I'm not seeing cliques because I'm so aloof?.

I was talking about the above or below threads. But there's no point in whining about it. Most of the time I think it's unintentional but occassionally it can be like dogs marking territory :p

Is that like when someone posts:

I PM'd you.

You've been marked, Beautiful One! :D

* pounce tackle and marks kisses all over your face *

Oh shit! This is Chains thread and he doesn't tolerate shenanigans. Oops! :D

I've never been one to worry about who's talking to who or who's not talking to me. I think that sometimes being skipped over is caused by people like me....the slow slug who clicks on the quote button and by the time I type out what I have to say and hit enter..one to four people have already replied and not only is my post way out in the middle of nowhere...it gives the appearance of skipping over people's comments....it's not intentional...it's just the result of a slow response time of my too wordy replies.

If there are cases I come across that I may deem have happened intentionally and I was skipped...I really don't dwell on it and just move on to another post where I can do yet another quoted post and enter it way too late. Sooner or later I will get the timing right....it's usually when everyone goes to bed...

OOooh, I'm terrible about breaking the rules and just having fun. *hangs head*

generally, I try not to skip folks on purpose, tho, and often will go back and try to include someone if I think it will look like a snub if I don't. Sometimes there are just too many people and it seems like it might do more harm than good to try, so I don't always.

Mindfondler, I listened to your bio earlier today. :D I enjoyed it immensely--how very clever of you!

You know, it's easy to sit and bitch about things and how we get snubbed. And that's what I like about it. It's so easy.

yeah...like you snubbed my picture thingy on the GB. I expected the others to be a-holes!!

Huh?

You're blaming me for not commenting on where you want to go most in the world, instead of making a guess at the place the person posted?

You're supposed to guess where it is... is not the title WHERE IN THE WORLD?

It wasn't your turn to post a picture to guess. If one guessed a picture correctly then it was now their turn to post one.

So now I'm lumped in with assholes?

Got it.

Lurking is a good way to get the vibe of the site. I bounce around and skim most of the forums here. I'll comment if I have an observation or a sarky comment that pops in my head. With the playground and it's nice nice rule, my words are tempered a bit more than normal. Which does seem to give civility a chance to grow with only the occasional outburst of bile and drama.

It's the unwritten rule about only being able to post in one forum that's curious to me. If there's an actual clique, it's those that follow that rule and dismiss people who have a post history from another forum.

The passing over people is fairly common. Get six dogs after the same bone and you're gonna see some fur in the air.

Wow this thread is hoppin today....I' ll just jump in on the clique question...i don' t know if they truly are cliques, because once I' ve joined in the conversation I' ve never felt snubbed or anything. I think it' s like many have already said, and more a matter of people who know each other and are in the middle of things.

That is first I hear about such "rule". I post anywhere I see fit and anyone who would try to dictate me some such "rules" can go to hell.
But then, I am a lone wolf and dont give a damn about cliques either.

I mostly posted on BDSM board in past because I liked the people who frequent it the best. I dont judge people by where they post or number of posts they have, but if you have 1k posts and all of them are one word in Playground and one liners in AmPics I will conclude we just dont have much in common.
