Sorry... I didn't explain myself very well. :(

I didn't mean that you are stalking anyone. I just felt that it was a bit stalker-ish for someone else to watch your postings and then call you out on not replying to their PM on this basis. Perhaps I'm overreacting. :)
.

I actually thought after I sent that and had to go somewhere that in my error you might have interpreted it that way. Sorry for he miscommunication. Yes, sometimes it felt a bit stalkerish. And the introvert in me, at times conversation feels like the energy is being sucked out of me. Like okay, I need to go over here now and read something or do something else to replenish my life force.

To be fair, Lit has a lot of 'cliques'.
I still run into them.
You can post, but you might as well be invisible.

Are they cliques or are they people with history, new places are always full of what seem to be groups of friends with shared experiences maybe it just takes a while to be noticed in the chatter and familiarity. I'm too new so every group feels a bit like a clique to me including this one

This is what I've heard from folks too. They send PMs and chat, etc. but rarely (if ever) post. Just a comfort level with having anything out there publicly that could be linked to them in real life. Makes sense to me.
It makes a lot of sense to me too, but I wonder whom they are exchanging PMs and chatting with. I've seen the recipients of unsolicited PMs say often that they are likely to discard messages from individuals with few postings or no profile information. Do lurkers have other tricks, or do they just play the numbers game?

I'm glad that we quickly fixed that between us. :)

That's a description that I hear often from my introvert friends. I used to be that way myself but, as I get older, I seem to be flipping around and finding myself sometimes in need of conversation in order to recharge my batteries. Yeah... I'm weird. ;)

Sees you so you won't feel invisible and to reinforce that I hope we aren't clique-ish here.

*typos will be the end of me*

Hello, fellow cliquelessLitsterSister! :rose:

I know exactly what you all mean by the cliques. It's taken me awhile for anyone to even really notice that I'm around. For a long time, I just felt like a thread-murderer. "Oh... it's him!" *crickets*

Friendly wave back

See I actually got a warm fuzzy feeling from that

I'm easily pleased
It's worse than that for me -- I did actually wave at the screen. :D

I'll try to keep this on-topic by suggesting to Chained that he might wish to pose us a question about the best way to break down cliques. :)

Full disclosure: Yes, I had a thread where I posted naked pics. And I was quite popular within that thread. But when I ventured outside of it, I felt like a 'thread killer'.

I was actually thinking about touching on this - I know some people say they won't talk to anyone without a profile or a post history, which I definitely understand. However, if a PM is interesting, and the person sounds as if he could potentially be interesting, I'll respond, even if I've never seen him anywhere before. Two of the people I talk to most have never posted on my thread, and I had never seen them before they PMd me. I'm really glad I responded. :)

I've noticed you as well! In fact, I'm sure that I've seen you in other threads, even if we haven't swapped postings. :D

I totally feel you both. Being from AmPics (where I have an active thread still), I tend to not feel especially welcome over here in the PG most of the time. But this thread is different - it's the only one in the PG I feel truly comfortable posting in. Clique-ish folks sometimes show up on this thread, but they're usually the friendly type. And the OP takes care of the unfriendly types right quick. :)

I love hearing new perspectives and new voices on this thread, so please join in, Monica!!

This is exactly the type exchange I had hoped for when I started this thread. You guys do a great job of discussing without it spiraling into a free for all.

I promise to work on my typos, ugh, they are the ultimate thread killer. :)

Woohoo! The boss approves! :D

On the other hand, they can also lead to some interesting debate. :)

Well... I think I just heard a loud crashing sound as a large chunk of established wisdom on this site was shattered. :D

I know that feeling! For a while, my AmPics thread was my main hangout here. I've been feeling a bit "homeless" since it went quiet. :(

Yes -- this thread has been a welcome "second home" for me too! :)

Yes... join us... join us! ;)

I like this thread and follow it, but I'm usually too late to post about the subjects I find intersting. Not this time though.

My perspective on the clique thing:

First, I'm not sure if you consider me part of a clique or even know how I am. I do like to post with some people, but that's because I know it will be fun so the bar for me to post with them is lower.

I've also noticed a lot of people including many here, who I haven't interacted with. Me personally found the PG welcoming, but I guess it depends on which threads you post in. I also think there is a bit of elitism, if you've only been here a month and with less than 100 posts people won't notice you. It's hard to know who will stick around or not, and it's always easier to remember someone with an Avatar. Of course some names are easy to remember, like tiny_tits. I noticed that name right away.

To me the clique feeling was worse in The Lounge, where I felt completely ignored so I started posting in the PG instead. It was much better, but it still took some time before I got to know people. Some already have enough people they interact with, to have any real interest to get to know someone new unless they really pique their interest.

Some people would probably think this group is a clique and be afraid to post, since everyone seems to know each other. ;)

Hi to all :D

I actually left here for a long time, in a large part due to the ignoring of posts, among other things.

Sam, I have seen your Pic thread, just feel kinda stupid posting "nice Tits" comments (BTW they are quite nice).

Monica, I haven't seen you before, so welcome to the board.

I have also noticed that some people will skip over your post ( or a bunch of posts) to answer their buddies. It really used to bother me, but there are a lot of good people here as well so I just don't even try to interact act with those types.

So if any of you see me around, jump in and I will always respond.

But it can lead to fun if they're misinterpreted. ;)

And I just want to jump on the welcome wagon!
Feel free to post here...everyone is welcome! :rose:

I should've said welcome too and feel free to post with me. I will probably be very rude and ignore you in the beginning, but after a while I might recognize your existence. ;)

Ignoring sucks by the way, and I try to avoid doing it.

I have found this group here in this thread to be a good group of people who aren't really cliquish. I have only seen one or two people in this thread that I actually know but I feel like everyone here responds rather well to posts, regardless of their author. I mean, everyone hangs on my every word because I'm absolutely brilliant. But that's a given.

I think it's hard for people to just jump into conversations when there are certain people and relationships with history and establishment. Perhaps that's why people lurk.

If I post in a thread and it stops, I consider the option that what I wrote just couldn't be topped and I basically left everyone speechless. :D Then I go with that option. Hehe.

Typos are inevitable. I type solely from a mobile, so my words often really come out making me look like an arse.

From lurking to lit cliques... I actually have several opinions on the topics but for the life of me I can't gather them into any sort of coherent order. Hopefully I can get myself together and come back to voice some of them.

In the meantime, those who've felt ignored or slighted, hopefully you'll keep on trying. It took a very long time for this introvert (don't laugh guys, I swear it's true) to find her place on the playground.
