There has been a lot of it lately. My feeling is it will pass, just like everything always does. In the meantime, I just steer clear of it.

risque' business

Since we are in a playful mood, does Lit allow you to be who you are more freely, or who you'd like to be but aren't?

Lit allows me to take risks that I would never consider taking in real life. Irl, I am worlds more cautious than I am here, and hardly flirtatious at all (unless I've got a couple drinks in me, and then all bets are off). Would I want to be the person that I am here, in real life? Oh, hell no. :D

I am blessed to have made a few trusted friends already, who I know I can go to with questions and concerns. Unfortunately, every single last one of them lives half a freakin' world away  so I will probably never get the chance to hug their necks and tell them thank you. :(

But I love their guts anyway!

Good morning denizens of Litiquette ;)

I wonder what surprises I'll find today. That's a part of Lit I really enjoy, the almost complete randomness of how each day unfolds. A serious post can go towards goofy in a heartbeat. The pics people find to share are always impressive, and to think that they were not taken just to be shown on Lit ;).

So what's your Lit biggest surprise been? And after awhile the surprise element goes away but the the smirk that can arise never gets squelched.

The biggest surprise was "Not your avrg pussy"!
I am not very interested in pussies, so I never clicked on that thread. When I clicked on it, it was by accident. And my eyes opened wide: I love pussies!

What really kind of baffles me is the ease people discuss serious themes seriously and profound amidst the games to which they turn back a second after they posted some deep thoughts.

Somehow Lit is like a big family reunion, all the kids running around, screaming and having fun, some aunts in a corner talking recipes, a few uncles in an other corner talking football and cars, some great-aunts wooing over the newest family member with its mom, some menfolk grilling, some women scoping ice-cream in bowls, and then the uncle who went to the cellar for wine comes up, and says: "You remember this or that?", and all conversations stop and move to this or that for a while.

I took me a while to figure that. Maybe we should start a watersports thread and post pics of fishing and sailing?

You forgot the mad-bad-crazy cousins locked up in the GB shed outside. Who keeps throwing them food?

Ow, now you spoiled the surprise ...

That is were I throw out yesterday's leftovers which didn't fit into the fridge anymore! I thought they were kept in the old garage?

I came here because I was horny and lonely...and while that was certainly remedied quite nicely, the biggest surprise came from sticking around afterward and getting to know the Playgrounders. I've met some really awesome people here and a few really good friends.

There are people here that I consider myself blessed to know and lucky to call 'friend'. I didn't expect that at all.

Seems like the balance of lit is teetering between flirting and venom. Which way do you see the balance tipping?

I am a fan of flirting, of course. I always seem to miss the venom. When I do notice it, I try not to engage. When I am the cause of it, I apologize. Then ... back to flirting. I'm confident we can out flirt all of the negativity, if we work together. Quick, someone flirt with me! ;)

I think we all need to flirt outrageously to dissipate the venom

My thoughts exactly!
For me Lit has unfolded layer after layer of surprise, from the existence of the Playground, to the joys of virtual sex, and all the flavors of people to be found here. For sure I never expected to develop feelings for my vitrual playmates, or friendships, as others have mentioned. And I too love the constantly shifting landscape...every day is a little surprise in itself.

Life is full of haters and people who seek to cause trouble. Lit is supposed to be a fun place, I try to avoid drama if possible. I just don't get why people seem to thrive on being nasty when it is so much nicer for everyone if we all enjoy the sandbox :) If people are laughing and smiling it makes the trials of life seem more bearable imho :D

so my vote goes to flirting triumphing over venom!

I love this analogy. :)

I agree here - who knew I'd find such nice people on a sex forum? I have a handful of friends I speak to regularly, and whose company I enjoy immensely.

So, Lit is a happy place for most of us. That's good!

But it's not the happiest place on earth, or is it? For the relatively small number of people here, and the amount of fun and excitement that is found within these walls, I would argue that Lit just might be the happiest place on earth. Screw that little mouse in FL & Cali.
