Speaking of dreams, in you time at Lit, what's exceeded your expectations and what has left you disappointed, and remember, no naming names ;)

oh you meet the normal assholes you would in the real world so not disappointed. But then i have been in one kind of chat or the other for over 15 years so i know what to expect.

The amount of fun I have meeting people and bantering back and forth with them is what I enjoy the most. I never expected to find this level of entertainment and make friends in the process. :)

As far as lessons learned, I had to learn the ropes the hard way on a few things as a new Litster. I just chalk it up to experience and move forward.

I would say these same reasons.

Also getting to explore sexually in a safe environment.
I am a better lover because of Lit.

Haven't we all.

I didn't expect to learn so much about my own sexuality while here, or to find people I genuinely consider friends. I also didn't realize - and this sounds bad, I'm sure - the power I'd feel here. Perhaps confidence is a better word?

As for disappointments, I have certainly learned a thing or two since my early days on Lit. I felt really used in several situations, and so typically avoid getting too close to most Litsters. I'm pretty cautious with who I let in. I have had my feelings hurt twice, on separate levels, but both were enough that I know I don't want to go through that again. My real life is hard enough.

Thanks for the post, I think it really represents what a lot of us have felt since coming here. Except my thread doesn't give me any power lol

Early morning topic:

Have you ever had a choice to spend time with either your SO in real life or be with someone in Lit and chosen your online friend? assuming your real life SO, isn't an asshat that you desperately want to avoid.

I hear you, Sam :)

But, you know, there's a saying in my mother tongue which goes more or less like this: what doesn't choke you fattens you!

First paragraph, so very true!
Second...yes, learning to be cautious was a hard lesson as I have a tendency to be too nice.

I can't see that happening and the reason I socialise here at the moment are twofold: first - being trans* is hard work, it's often frightening and dangerous and Lit gives me the freedom to be frivolous in a way I can rarely be in RL. And second - I really don't want a relationship right now: part of that is studying for my degree.

A friend had a crisis a month ago and we only see each other a couple of times a year. When that came up, I never gave it a second thought: bff first, Lit if I had time

( I agree with Thandi and others that I've learned a good deal about other people's sexuality since being here. Can't say I've been let down by anyone here - maybe I don't let them get that close in the first place? )

It can become a delicate balance once you start to develop relationships with Litsters. Some you let Lit in and the distinction isn't nearly as clear as it once was

Which is only a problem if you are discomfited by that lack of distinction. All you need to do is consider what you're getting from it and what you want and if the two don't match then say something, surely? It is an adult site after all

New topic - in a cyber scene, what is the expectation of reaching an actual orgasm when in synch with the cyber? Is the scene as hot for you if you don't really cum?

Could you clarify - are we hypothetically typing or skyping? This is such a bizarre thread and I feel quite at home here :D

I was thinking typing, as skyping would fall into the category of faked orgasms.

I work hard to keep it bizzare :D
