Early morning topic: there are people, although mostly guys, that will post stalk a person and immediately post after them no matter the thread or the topic. It can be harmless but when does it get creepy?

For me it gets creepy once they start acting like an asshat.

I don't get too many post stalkers though. I think I'm the one who does most of the stalking.....hehe.....

Overheard this last night: "So when are you going to make an honest woman out of her" Really??? Can we let the 1950s mentality stay 60yrs behind us ?

What phrases do you see here or overhear that you can't be live still get used?

If you see one listed that you still use, offer up why, there was lots of good insights shared yesterday.

The post stalking thing has bothered me but mostly because I'm trying to avoid the other person thinking that I'm doing it, which I don't ( very British an' all ) so even if I'm bouncing in my seat wanting to reply, I'll wait till someone else does, then jump in.
I have someone who posts on my thread with just a Hi and that's ok 'cos they're doing a bump for me but I just wish they'd post a question rather than just a Hi

I will agree that I fall under this at times as well. I try not to post right away sometimes, but dangit! It is hard not too at times ;/

Conversely... what's the proper litiquette for responding to random comments, even though they're not directed anywhere near you? Just for shits and giggles, like on the blurt thread's third incarnation.

If I do feel like that something was aimed me (perceived, imagined or just wild speculations) I'll usually won't say anything. But I will think about it, and it will weight me down :/ In response to someone saying something my way though, I do prefer they tell me so I know what wrong I have done. So I can either correct it or take future steps to not let it happen again.

But I'll usually respond to a undirected comment with a bit of silliness just for shits and giggles. But I guess this is starting to go the wrong way huh :/ It is just for blurting doh!

I think if you have something relevant to say to the conversation you should by all means post something. To me it doesn't matter how far down how long ago the post was if it's a good thought it's a good thought, share it.

I think post-docking is a form of freestyle all on its own. Whatever way works for you, and you can't always be there with the person you want to exchange comments with is around.

Which raises a good question, when should you not post on the thread and just PM the person directly?

Funny you should bring this up. I noticed a comment recently that I thought was directed at me. Long story short, I asked the person instead of stewing on it and it wasn't.

That's the funny thing about Lit. There are so many forums and users you really have no idea what or who comments are about or if they concern Lit or real life.

That's too bad, I think everyone should feel like they can contribute and post whenever they want. I admit sometimes I hold back on posting because it looks like a conversation between a couple two or three people and I don't want to interject halfway through. But that's just something about me I don't think that should be a standard rule.

There have been plenty of times I've been pm'd and asked if it was directed at them.

I've seen a prime example of that in RA's thread about Online Only ...
