:nana: <----- that's the Friday happy dance.

Are you dancing because the work week is over or because your awesome weekend is just ahead? If there was a Lit party near your home, would you go? If you are here without knowledge of a partner, would you try and come up with an excuse to attend? Or for you, would it sound like a fun concept but there's no way you'd ever go.

yes - I would go. It would be fun for sure.
no ties so would just be able to go because I want to.

so... when - where - lets party.

I dance because I love dancing - but, in this case, the cause of the dancing outburst was a great song - and the impending weekend. The work week was a little long and brutal. My jet lag has jet lag.

It would all depend on who was going to the party and where it was at, but I would go, just because it would be fun, one way or another. Maybe scary orgy fun. Maybe just fun.

Good morning everyone, I hope Friday night didn't wear you out, you still have Saturday night as well ;) Family, some are close , some are estranged , some are like best friends and some are like strangers. Almost like relationships here at Lit. Some close, some not, some that are fragile. So, would you consider people you know here as family?

What a perfect topic Chainy. Having been back with my actual family for a week, I have family on my mind. I don't live near them, so I have created my own family of friends. And that includes people online. Even though I may never meet any of them, they are no less family. In fact i' ve bared my soul to a few here in a way I never would with actual family members. And only partly because of the anonymity, I would never have imagined finding friends and lovers online. But I should know by now to never say never. :D

"Family" brings to my mind a whole mixture of other feelings (some good, some less so) that aren't shared with people that I've met here. So... no, I don't consider anyone here as family.

I can think of a few other things that might be nice. I highly suggest you check out the sistersluts thread for a more detailed run down.
I've just checked out that thread and felt the sisterly love. Please may I apply for honorary membership? I've been the lone guy at all-girl parties before (as designated driver) and I've always been accepted as one of the gang (and I'm straight!). All that I ask is that you respect me as a real person with feelings and not just an object. ;)

I agree. I have a brother who has never even met my children... long story but family is not something that means you are close to me. I make an honest choice who I allow "in" and just sharing blood does not mean you make the cut. I do consider some here to be a friend tho, which is better than family in a lot of respects because we are choosing to make and maintain a relationship with them.

I am sorry but I cannot make that promise to you... when I get really aroused it is hard to think straight. I can try not to objectify you tho...

Nah. People here at Lit are too easy to tune out - just log out or block them. I certainly wish (on occasion) that I had the same tools for real life family.

Nope, no family but some friends!

Saturday night is easing into Sunday morning here already. I am not worn out though.

I just had (still have, they will leave monday) my parents over for a fortnight. Not living close to them gets harder as they grow older. Luckily we have things like Skype and the internet now. When I moved here a telephone call costed over Fr.1,- per minute ...

I love some Lit-friends dearly, am very fond of others, but they aren't family. One or two maybe come close.

There something intrinsically powerful about family ties so when families fall apart the hurt is so much worse. I've always felt I needed to have roots and to belong and friends that don't seem a bit lost somehow, at least to me. I feel sorry for them even if they appear perfectly happy.
But there are friends who are pretty special because we've shared things in a way you don't with family.... some bonds with friends will probably last a lifetime. Do they?
I'd certainly miss Lit is it suddenly disappeared but maybe it would stop me being lazy when it comes to finding friends and sharing intimacies?

No, there is no one here that would even remotely feel like family. I have come across a few that wanted to be my Daddy, but that's not my thing.

Good morning everyone. Is there a direct correlation between being a great dancer and being great in bed? Is it safe to assume that if someone looks sexy on the dance floor they're going to be sexy making love to you?

I'd have to say yes to this one. I think the correlation is there for a couple of reasons:

1. Physicality: A good dancer has a certain level of physicality - conditioning and stamina, that translate directly into the sexual arena.

2. Rhythm: Dance requires the ability to find the beat and maintain the rhythm, both which translate directly into the sexual arena.

3. Partnering: Almost all social dancing requires the ability to not only find the beat and rhythm, but to find and share the beat and rhythm with another human being. Some forms require an even greater level of coordination. It is about getting to know your partner to know how they dance, it is about paying attention to subtle touch and sight cues, developing a shared non-verbal communication, knowing how to lead and follow.

4. Study and Practice: Dancing, even social dancing, requires study and practice. The more you do both, the better you get. The same things holds true with sex. Yes, there are people who have a lot of natural talent, and people who have a lot of learned talent - true greatness happens when you combine the two.

So, from everything I have seen so far, it is a direct correlation but I will qualify it with one thing - the question of who leads - disasters on the dance flow happen exactly like disasters in bed - if you have two lead dancers you're apt to run into each other and not be able to get synched up - and if you have two following dancers, each is going to wait until the other moves first.

So, immediately head out and take dance lessons! Your sex life will improve!

I agree with Paul_Chance that there probably is a correlation, for all of the reasons that he has given. I'm an experienced ballroom dancer, and there is something intensely sexy about dancing with a lady who follows my lead and moves elegantly with it. It's a lovely feeling to share a seemingly telepathic understanding and to move fluidly as one, so to speak.

I can add a couple of additional factors to the ones that Paul raises:

5. Trust: In traditional ballroom dancing, the lady isn't supposed to do any navigation of her own -- her supposed role is just to follow the man's lead with poise. Of course, this can lead to mishaps, and the man is almost always to blame for those (yes, really). As such, it's great to dance with a partner who shows unconditional trust, and it feels wonderful to whisk her smoothly around a crowded ballroom without any incidents.

6. Sense of humour: Regardless of the level of dancer, things can go wrong. I've sometimes had to take desperate evasive action to avoid an unanticipated collision, and it's reassuring to be able to laugh this off with a partner rather than have to endure their scowling for the rest of the dance. Similarly, in the bedroom, things can go wrong (hopefully that's not just me!) and the best response is to share a giggle about them.

Gentlemen, you summed it up quite nicely!

There is no real correlation between the two. Basic coordination is a factor, but not overly necessary. It boils down to figuring out what your partner enjoys and caring enough to learn and explore.

Happy Monday and welcome back weekday Litiquette-izans. So what did you miss this past weekend? Well, I saw a tattoo this weekend that I absolutely did not like. I can't say that's ever happened to me before. It got me to wondering if I could ever be with someone who had a tattoo that I so disliked. I know it's shallow, skin deep, and petty of me, but hey, I'm not perfect. So how much are you willing to overlook, or does your partner have to be perfect?

Nothing will ever be perfect. I prefer perfectly imperfect. Life is about compromise and everyones limits are individual to them. What one person would accept from another isn't going to be the same for everyone. If you fall in love with someone you fall in love with their imperfections, it's what makes them unique.

Well damn, Fakey, way to kill a question with a perfect answer. :)

That was a great post on which to end the morning. Thank you Smiler .

To add a bit more on this subject, it's interesting how my own ideas of the type of woman I'd like to go out with have changed over the years. Back when I was eighteen, I had this ridiculous vision of the 'ideal girl' for me.

The best part, for me, about getting older is that these silly visions of perfection and idealism have been removed from my mind as I've become more wordly wise. That's not to say that I still don't make a mess of everything now and again, but I'm a lot better than I used to be at not seeking the unobtainable.

Maybe I should modify the question a bit. I think there's a fine line between seeking the perfect match and not settling for less than ideal. There are things that would be a deal breaker for me, drugs, smoking, abusive traits, to name a few. I know we may not ever find perfection but don't we owe it to ourselves to not settle for something we'd rather not have to live with ?

Maybe, but don't we suddenly accept a lot of things we dislike if we meet the right one? Maybe accept is too strong a word, but sometimes certain things don't seem so bad.

An addiction to drugs might be a deal breaker, but would it be a deal breaker if a person you have a wonderful connection with smokes grass twice a year or a cigarette at a party?

Don't make other traits a person the perfect or close to ideal match?

Are you saying a lit friend must all meet these same requirements?
