Philosophical debate about cream puffs? That could be a sticky subject to touch.

I think even if a cure for cancer is found, like the 1960's moonshot, any cure, incremental or full, would probably exceed the gross national debt. Pharmaceutical companies aren't known for making medicine easily within everyone's budget. Therefore, the only ones who would ever see any benefit from such an endeavor would be the politicians and mega rich.

However, I won't touch whether it's political posturing or not.

Are you tempting me to rant, Chainey-boy?

I have a soap box here waiting to go.

You can't cure "cancer". That's like winning a war on drugs. We'd have to stop cell mutations, and in the process, we'd kill ourselves.

What we should be taking about instead is understandingthe mechanisms of actions that cause"cancer", and mitigating those, as well as developing more precise and sophisticated detection methods. From there, we can work on better, less expensive (both monetarily, and health risk wise) treatments that will produce better outcomes.

Too fluffy, too serious, this is becoming the Goldilocks thread. When will the porridge ever be just right?

Now that's an outfit!!!!

That has inspired a new approach for today. Post a pic of someone dressed that best depicts who you are. It may not be how you dress but it provides all of us a mental image of who you are.
