Lisey's Story, by Stephen King

King can't seem to stop his verbal diarrhea. It's what makes his books kinda shitty, in my opinion.

Which is kinda ironic since his On Writing seems quite respected.

Yeah, he's got a lot to say. But then again, I am that way myself.

I loved it - although it started slowly, it came through for me.\

What I liked the best about it was the glimpse into himself. A parallel, maybe - yes? I thought it was a great look into his thought processes.

I've found that his work has gotten a lot more introspective since his accident and his "retirement".

I'm still not sure whether his tendency to be his own deux ex machina (expecially in DT) is pure conceit or pure genius.

It is ballsy. *grin*

I've read most of his books. Some I've enjoyed like IT and Salem's Lot and the short story The Mist (which should have been made into a movie by now) but generally I think he's over rated. And he's lost his edge since his accident.

I'm reading an expanded verstion of The Stand right now and I can't believe all the fluff in it. He'd no doubt call it background, but I can't believe how it waffles on and on about things of absolutely no relevance to the story.

I haven't read that one but.

I'm reading it now. It's not as 'bad' as most of his novels are for me to get into, but I'm with Cloudy. Shut up already, I want to know what the hell happened, and how it's going to get weird. :D

Sarah was right. It gets much better, believe me. :D

It does.

But I'm not certain I could read it again.

It's pretty draining.
