I don't usually carry a purse. I find that I end up carrying around a bunch of crap that I don't need.

Case in point: I was just out with my friend getting ice cream. When she was paying this is what she pulled out of her purse...

• One mitten (no mate) with money and ATM card inside....yes she does have a wallet.
  
• One empty ziplock bag...extra large.
  
• One bottle (sm) rosemary extra virgin olive oil from the Santa Barbara Olive Company
  
• One Henry Rollins Think Tank CD (double)
  
• Assorted stuff that you would normally find in a purse....allergy pills, tampons, the aformentioned wallet, checkbook (with no checks in it ), etc....

I'm with you on that sexilexie, I hate carrying a purse. On the rare occasions that I do carry one, I usually end up leaving somewhere it and having to run about frantically searching for it.

Pockets are much more convenient.

Assorted drugs.. a couple of my daughters ADD pills, a 2 day supply of my moms drugs just incase I want to leave her someplace, allergy pills for me during baseball season and for my dog the rest of the time, nutrolox (antacid compliments of prison), tylenol (little packages compliments of prison), band aids (prison again), a little plastic pen (I have way to much stuff from the prison in my purse), a note pad with no paper in it, assorted receipts, my daughters medical information, my daughters dental information, my mothers medical information, my dogs medical information, softball tournament schedule from last year,a softball (it's a large purse), a tin of wintergreen altoids, a miniture coca cola bottle, teeth (my childrens first lost tooth), denture paste (again.. incase I want to leave my mother someplace), little bottle of listerine, a toothbrush and toothpaste and a maxi pad.

Honestly? I've been carrying a backpack for so long i don't even notice it. I got into the habit in college, and I just can't break it. At least I don't have textbooks in it!

A friend of mine has this HUGE purse. I discovered how much it weighs one day when she asked me to run to the car and get it for her. Her husband was waiting in the car so I just reached through the open window and tried to lift the purse out. I nearly ruptured a disc!

I finally opened the door and retreived it. I handed it to her and asked her if her back hurt. She looked at me in shock and said, "How did you know? "
