Well, I was going to impart the news that I finally worked up my nerve and have an appointment to get sheared. But somehow, after reading about "detachable stones" my news seems a tad less relevant. :D

I had a coloring accident. I dyed my hair dark for Halloween (I dressed up as Irene Adler). The color was supposed to be temporary - a wash out affair. Instead, it has been a fade-out affair. I've been left with a sort of reddish hue. Since I'm an ash blond, it's not particular attractive. :(

It's grown out enough that I'm finally taking the plunge and shearing to a short, curly crop.

I am...a little nervous. I've never had short hair before. :eek:

Aw hell, here in the ATX a goodly number of the ladies dye their hair, then re-dye when it starts to fade, but without bleaching or anything. Just another dye job on top of the fade.

I hope your hair grows fast. If one is used to having long hair, having it cropped can be quite a trip, and it can take months or years to regain its original length. But there are always wigs, neh?

On the other hand, short hair takes a whole lot less maintenance and is loads cooler in summer...

Just leave it long enough to grab, pull and yank (yanno, if the opportunity arises).
