.... most of it old cd's that I couldn't remember what was on them....

All of a sudden, the songs I chose for my brothers funeral came on.....

I am crying a little right now - not because I am sad - but because it has brought back memories of those wonderful times we spent together.

Music does that. Brings back instant memories that affect us so deeply.
What song does that for you? Every time you hear it?

Free Fallin' by Tom Petty. I went skydiving 20+ years ago. The peeps made a VHS set to that, and I will always think of skydiving in Chico, Cali when I hear it.

Edith Piaf, La Vie En Rose. My Mom always sang that saying she always wanted to be a French lounge singer.

Probably I Heard It Through the Grapevine by Marvin Gay. I think it was the song to the opening scene of The Big Chill. My brother had died shortly before that and the scene opens with Alex being prepared in his casket. It probtably wouldn't have made as much of an impression on me except for the fact that the character Alex and my brother died of suicide. I should have read a more indepth review before going to see the movie.

Anyway, on a lighter note, You Look Wonderful Tonight by Clapton..Reminds me of simpler times and a guy I was in love with.

hey, i remember CDs. those were great back in the day. sure, they were hardly records, but they were better than tapes. man, that takes me back.
