Sather - while he was GM in Edmonton - bitched and whined that if he had the money the Rangers had, then not only would he make the playoffs but win cups as well. Three years later.. His Rangers have yet to make the playoffs. Meanwhile the Oilers under Kevin Lowe's leadership have a shot - albiet a small one - to win the Northwest division.

Did you know in Sweeden the word "Slats" means "he who is full of shit"? It's true.

As for Iginla.. The Flames want current proven NHL'ers that don't carry the 6 or 7 mil salary that Jerome has in exchange for Iginla. The Rangers don't have that. Neither do the Stars, Flyers or Devils for that matter. If any team gets Iginla, I'm thinking the Leafs should. They have a huge amount of top level prospects ready to breakout and have current proven NHL'ers that make a million or two per year.

I have two words in responce:

Alexander Mogilny.

I don't know, I think Iginla would easily have Quinn's intrest if the price was right. Iginla is a forward who doesn't mind standing in front of a net or crashing it.. and if pushed enough he will drop the gloves with someone. He did it earlier in the season against Bill Guerin of all players.

Two men who get paid about a collective 14 million to score goals.. And there they were anyway trying to beat the crap out of each other.

I'm sure that went over well with both team's GMs!

And right now Iggy is hot.. He's starting to look like the Iginla of last year... The Leafs IMO need scoring, not more grit.
