It's been my experience that I am a shit, as well, sometimes. In fact, I have been a "total shit" 27 times in 2012 so far, and "pretty much a shit" 31 times, obliterating my 2009 high marks of 23 and 25, respectively. So...good company.

However, I don't believe in trolls, except in Neil Gaiman books and when hiking in near darkness.
 
The thing that really yanks my chain-- far more than the original fuckup -- is the next fuckup which as Joe here has demonstrated, is the 'oh gosh, what's wrong with you all?' crapola response, and the 'sigh' because poor babbu is so misunderstood.

It's NOT OKAY to try to shift the blame when you've fucked up.

That's really a lot of people's bag, isn't it? Like, here, there, everywhere. As I get older in life, I'm really over it. Own your shit! I fucking own mine.

I even say to my kids, hey, I apologize when I mess up, don't I? You need to do the same.

Yeah, cause unconsensually forcing your kink on the poor person who had to clean up that mess is totally okay, and what they hell are we doing to object to it? Can't we take a joke? Can't we see how hot he is to force his kink on others? :rolleyes:

It's not ok to shame SW. He's a lovely human that is both inherently good and completely fallible. Expecting that mistakes are never made is unreasonable, as is expecting a wounded animal to snuggle. The best we can do is own our mistakes, and learn from them. Instead of focusing on what you did that was "wrong", simply ask yourself what you learned as I find ultimately its what we are looking for in the long run.

Seems you own your shit just fine, Sir so please be kind to you are you navigate the bumpy roads. From where I sit, you are doing just fine. :rose:

The problem here is that I keep *repeating* this particular sin. What I haven't learned is how to sublimate the anger at the pain rather than take it out on others - one other particularly, who doesn't deserve it.

I do appreciate the kind words, though. Maybe they'll help me move on to the next step.

Well, I believe that an apology is demonstrating complete understanding of the offense and promising to not repeat it... And then not repeating it.

Sounds like you are understanding it better, so you are closer to your goal for sure. In the mean time I find that appreciation for the patience you require from said loved ones is a far better thing to give than a 5 th attempt at apologizing...And sometimes flowers help... Or other more personal "thank you's" ;)
