Could someone please describe this shift in manner or the way the people have been posting?

I haven't noticed it - rather than a general slowdown and the desperate attempt to spice things up with random spam threads, but that is all I have noticed.

We are in fact nearing Christmas so people have nothing really to say as they are anticipating the moment to share the things on their minds with their family over the holidays and the sort. The ones who will be not with their families over Christmas are trying to keep things lively but without any interesting topics to discuss resort to the spammy type of posts, causing an empty feeling as there is no one who shares enough emotional weight on forums this time of year.
