It’s time to bust the myth: Most Trump voters were not working class.

"To look at it another way, among white people without college degrees who voted for Trump, nearly 60 percent were in the top half of the income distribution. In fact, one in five white Trump voters without a college degree had a household income over $100,000."

That is your working class KO.

That is the plumber....electrician....auto repair mechanic....farmers.

Millions are made every year fixing A/C units and shoveling shit.

Income level has nothing to do with being working class or not.

Yes, millions are made -- but not by any individual shit-shoveler.

Owners of small business most likely. General, mechanical contractors. Landscaping companies. Small production plants. Construction contractors. Work your way up as a house framer to owning your own company. Affluent yet not college educated.

Very much America centric. No real knowledge of history or the world outside US borders. Probably works quite a few hours every week with little downtime for intellectual pursuits. Family orientated. Older over 50 probably.

Blue collar but upper middle class as there is good money in the trades. Especially as a business owner. Lots of tax writeoffs. Always seeking more. And very interested in paying less taxes.

A legitimate POV if somewhat limited in vision.

I literally shovel shit for a living KO, made my first million in a used Kubota loader selling composted manure for 25 bucks a yard bro. High grade soil mixes for 60/yard and my worm shit goes for 225/yard. Got my start selling nuts and berries.

The guy I pay good money to come empty my septic tank? Owner/operator and he makes bank, suckin' up shit with a giant turd vac.

My neighbor is a tow truck/locksmith owner operator.....he makes 180-250/yr bro. That's top 10%.....100% working class, answering that call out there at 2am getting that money.

Water delivery guy lives down the road, he makes fuckin' bank, well over 100k I guarantee it and more like 7 figures when we have bad drought going on.

Guy across the street is an independent contractor, master electrician. He's a 1%'er, working class.

Plenty of millionaire farmers all along the valley/coastline of California make ballin' bucks every year.

Our county councilman? 80k/yr and is not working class...he can't afford our neighborhood.

Income level has NOTHING to do with being working class or not KO.

In his world you either have a high-paying job working for the government itself or for something the government supports, like the academic industrial complex, are a millionare that did not build that, or being exploited for minimum wage which just needs to be adjusted upwards to a "living wage."

I'm pretty sure that one of the first things necessary to believe any of the liberal dogma is an absolute inability to do basic back-of-envelope arithmatic.

His mechanic I'm sure has a shop rate posted let's say it's somewhere around $75 an hour. He thinks that when he does this job or that job he actually spent that many hours doing it..of course he didn't. He's better than what the book says. He did the job that paid 2 hour shoprate time in an hour and have for a rate of earning of $100 an hour. Completely legal and appropriate.

When and if Oreo ever finally actually passes the bar after finally completing law school he hopes to make $200 an hour. The problem is he's going to sit in that office for hours and hours waiting for someone dumb enough to hire his dumbass.

I think he's just conflating low income with working class.

He doesn't realize there are skilled people out there who are willing to get the fuck out of bed at 4am and hustle that ass doing something of value that make a sweet ass living. Guess he's never had to pay the HVAC guy to un-fuck his unit on a 105F degree day or had to have his shit towed to a shop.

Anything under $40K, you might as well kick back and take the $40K in govt bennies.

I think of it a lot of it is this whole let's get out the young stoner vote by promising to double their McD's paycheck.

They hammered that so long and so hard that I think they actually believe that there are huge swathes of the population who go to work in a minimum wage job never get a raise never leave that job for a better job never get a skill or a trade.

Still waiting for snappy comeback from KO, who is busy looking up "working class."

He really has no idea. To be fair though, how would he? He spent the last four decades living on student loans.

...not that I'm denigrating him for it it's a genius idea I mean if you can just stay on student loans until you die, you ein!

Maybe KO confused blue collar with blue cholera.

You do realize that this is a person who has no understanding of the real world outside of his personal bubble...

Right?

I literally shovel shit for a living KO . . .

That's different, you own a farm and shoveling shit is only one small part of your business operations. But nobody who does farm work for an hourly wage makes a lot of money at it; and most family farmers who own their own farms have a hard time breaking even every year, don't they? The only sure way to profit by agriculture is to own stock in a big agribiz corporation.
