What kind of wheel? Brand? Style? Share the icelandic? i've got some silk and flax i'd be willing to trade...

The only thing with flax is keeping it wetted. It spins better that way.vella_ms said:Louet 55?
very basic. couldnt afford better but it does the job. ive never spun flax...most complex ive spun is rabbit angora (i used to raise them) and fine cotton.
if you and absy are going for a walk, stop on by.![]()
ive always wanted a floor loom. one day, when im rich and famous...entitled said:The only thing with flax is keeping it wetted. It spins better that way.
Let me know if you ever want anything better than that. i've got connections. *wink wink nudge nudge*
When i come down in March (*keeping fingers crossed that i get to*) i'll bring my wheels if you want me to, so you can play with them. Maybe a lap loom if you want to learn some quickie basic weaving stuff too.
Dont' have to be rich and famous. Check out this site... http://homepages.together.net/~kbruce/kbbloom.htmlvella_ms said:ive always wanted a floor loom. one day, when im rich and famous...
id love it if you brought your wheel
you show me your flax technique and ill show you some stained glass techniques if youre interested.
i'll see if i can get some more strick and another rod, one that will attach to your wheel.totally awesome. thanks for that link. maybe for my birthday in august, ill ask for one!entitled said:Dont' have to be rich and famous. i got a floor loom with a 27" weaving width that had been used twice for something like $400. It needs squared, but that's ok, cause i take the legs off and shlep it around everywhere for demonstrations and stuff anyway. It would be knocked off again. And it's a Schacht... one of the better brands out there.
i can do that!i'll see if i can get some more strick and another rod, one that will attach to your wheel.
No problem.vella_ms said:totally awesome. thanks for that link. maybe for my birthday in august, ill ask for one!
verra verra exciting.
You could learn, you know.Salvor-Hardon said:Dang I wish I could be there. that just sounds amazing to watch. I have a cousin that raised her own rabbits and sheep and vegetables for dyes.
Watching her spin and weave was hypnotic as the wheel spins and the shuttle flies back and forth.
ah sigh.
lucky loves to put her head on my thigh as i knit. she says it lulls her. that makes me want to knit even more.Salvor-Hardon said:Dang I wish I could be there. that just sounds amazing to watch. I have a cousin that raised her own rabbits and sheep and vegetables for dyes.
