I haven't tracked this number much, but it seems to have been adding one or two each day for the past few months. I do know that it saw a boost when I posted my first story in the incest category but based on reader feedback, the most loyal followers are fans of my novels.

So, for those of you with thousands of followers, was 1K a milestone for you?

Yes, I saw it as a milestone for this account, having reached it late last month, but I've found this is a hostile environment for me to note and celebrate such a milestone on the discussion board. I had some thought that I'd reach 1,000 followers in this account at the same time I'd had my 400th story posted to this account, but I still have a few story postings to go for that. Congrats on getting there. (My sr71plt account ticked over to 2,800 followers just today.)

I started keeping track of followers in the spring of 2017, when I was still fairly new and way under 1,000. It is fun to know that people like your work enough to take the time to follow you.

I'm a ways short of that one, but still feel pride that over 800 folks have clicked that follow button when they could have just moved on to the next story.

The "favorite" designation would have more bite/meaning if it carried out in sustained voting. I've even seen quite a few "favorite" votes registered without an actual vote on the story, which supports the idea that it's used to a large extent just to index stories to maybe read someday.

Congratulations! I'm not quite there yet, but I figure maybe 2-3 more weeks at the current burn rate. It's a big deal!

It's a little bittersweet for me, though. Yes, I'm happy to get more people reading, but I look at some of the folks I'm following, folks that have a much larger catalog and, in some cases, I think are better writers in the same style that I write in (kind of dense emotional stuff), and I feel bad that they aren't as well known. I look at someone like oneagainst, and it's a damned shame that he isn't more widely read, even if I know it's because of the themes that often show up in his stories (heavy bondage, power exchange, etc.). Every time something of his comes out, I'm like, "damn!" That dude should have a couple thousand followers by now.
