The Valentine's contest is currently going on, so those stories get priority, and everything else slows down a bit. The time between submission and posting really isn't an indicator of whether your story will get accepted or not.

Five days is pretty quick even without a contest. Expect at least a week, and then be surprised if it comes out in six days During the contest, it's a crapshoot ( unless you're entering the story in the contest, in which case it will go up quick )

That link will take you to your member page, and you should see a section for "Find an editor" ( provided someone doesn't jump to the rescue here first )

Try to find someone who appears to match up with the type of story you've written, and has updated their profile fairly recently.

I'm in the same boat, age_matters. (Submitted on Friday.) Thanks for the heads-up, Darkniciad. I was just going by the F.A.Q. which says 3-7 days turnaround time. I guess with the Valentine's Day Contest all bets are off.

I never seem to have a problem. The longest I've ever waited was three days. I think the editors just say, "Oh, it's that asshole again," and pass it through
