I submitted a story on May 4th and it says it was submitted but I have not got any feedback on whether it's being published. if they're going to kick it back for grammar. I have no idea what can I do? should I resubmit the story I mean is 11 days normal? It hasn't been normal on my other stories, what can I do,? I did reach out yesterday thru contact us, but have heard nothing

The usual advice is to wait anywhere between one and two weeks, then send a polite DM to Laurel. She's the site owner, and reviews all the submissions. Yes, as far as anyone knows, all by herself. You can send a DM by clicking on the envelope at the top of your screen and selecting "Start a new conversation". Ask her politely what the status is of your story. I've seen some people here recommending copying the URL of your story in your Pending folder to make it easier for her to find.

You won't get a reply, but it usually triggers some action for your story.

Alternatively, some people suggest just deleting the story and resubmitting it.

Whatever you do, don't edit it once it's in your Pending folder. That will just drop it back to the bottom of the pile and you'll have to wait all over again.

Good luck!

I'm not sure I can retrieve the story
If it's in your Pending tab, you can click on it, copy the text, and then click back or close the browser tab. Just don't click save draft or publish, because that will either take it out of the submission queue or send it to the back of the line.

But also, you really shouldn't compose a story from scratch within the submission window, there are just too many ways to lose your story that way. Use a writing program or a cloud tool like Google Docs 😊

I actually do write somewhere else, then up load it here, thank you I will probably resubmit
Be careful about uploads from some software. I've read on this forum that some software causes havoc with the software Literotica uses to publish stories.

I've always written in Word and then cut and pasted the Word file into the submission box. If there are problems, they're of my own doing and they're easy to fix. I just retrieve the original Word file, make the change and then paste the revised text into the submission box.

I have made changes to it will probably have it read by a volunteer first before I resubmit it. My punctuation sucks, I need all the help I can get.

I write in Notes too which is considered text for the format, I'm going to convert them all to PDF before resubmit

Don't submit PDFs. The site needs text based submissions. PDFs are graphics based files, and won't work.

Every time you resubmit, your submission goes to end of the queue. Just be patient. From what you've posted in this thread, you've started again several times.

I'm thinking the Second Story I submitted is lost it has to be, it was submitted on the 4th of May I have not heard anything on it. Meanwhile the other story I submit keeps getting kicked back within days that doesn't make any sense. so I'm thinking there's definitely something else going on with that story even though it says it was submitted successfully🤷‍♀️.. Thank you so much for the information, I seen someone cuts and pastes from word, and some of the volunteer editors will not accept text

What arrangements you make with a volunteer editor have nothing to do with the site's submissions. The editor arrangements, I would have thought, would work best with a document using a Word or Word clone, so you can make changes to the content.

The site can accept .txt .rft .doc .doc(x) documents, or - in my experience the most reliable - copy and paste into the submission form's text box. Do it that way and you can preview the submission, edit within the text box to get it right, fix the html, then preview again, and submit.

If the form's copy of the story is the only one in existence, you're nuts to rely on it. I write on my own device, and only when I've got the best possible copy do I load it onto the Lit servers.

I sent it to him or her in text thru email, my missing story got published, yay
And yeah I write in notes share it to drive, up load, preview lol

Is there a way to freply to comments on stories
unfortunately no, all you can do is say something like "@CommenterName, thank you, etc." as a way of marking who you're replying to. But it won't tag them the way the forum does, or structurally show that you're replying to another comment. 😒
