Adding insult to injury after the latest Trump tax revelations; it turns out the top 5 counties that the IRS audits are poor, predominantly black, rural southern counties.

But institutional racism isn't really a thing.......

SAD!!!

.

In related news; the number of IRS auditors has been slashed, and Republicans have demanded that the IRS prioritize the investigation of recipients of the Earned Income Tax credit(an anti-poverty program). The primary beneficiaries of these actions have been the wealthy and corporations.

But the wealthy and powerful rigging the system isn't really a thing......

SAD!!!

OMG!

The IRS is going after people that they suspect might not be paying their Taxes!

Hey wait a minute!

Isn't that what those cold fuckers do?

Last time we heard of them they were focused on Conservative Organizations and Christians.

Must be branching out.

Taxpayers in rural, poor parts of the U.S. are more likely be audited by the Internal Revenue Service than those living in wealthier counties, according to a new analysis. The county where residents are most likely to face an audit: tiny Humphreys County, Mississippi, where the median household income is less than $24,000 a year, or less than half the income of a typical U.S. family.

That may come as a surprise given that higher-income Americans typically have more tax loopholes and other gimmicks at their disposal to avoid the taxman than lower-income people do. The higher audit rates in poor regions comes down to an IRS policy of scrutinizing taxpayers who claim the Earned Income Tax Credit, or EITC, a refundable tax credit aimed at low- and moderate-income Americans, writes Kim M. Bloomquist, a former senior economist in the IRS Office of Research, in Tax Notes.

Bonus...

Despite better record keeping, the federal government continues to incorrectly send out billions of dollars in tax relief, a sign of complexity in the tax code. Last Thursday, a Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration audit estimated that 25.3 percent ($17.4 billion) of the $68.7 billion Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) payments made in Fiscal Year 2019 were improper. The audit concluded that while there is better reporting of improper payments, there has been no significant reduction to the billions of dollars of improper payments.

So those with money are trying to keep as much of it as possible by making sure the welfare recipients aren't cheating?? OH NOES!!! HOW COULD THEY???

It isn't surprising that the right wing sociopaths ignore the point I was making.

Fortunately I believe in karma and it applies to enablers as well as those who are the main perpetrators.

They keep handing out free passes for the wealthy, and the corrupt republicans who helped rig the system in their favor. Unsurprisingly, they give Trump the ultimate free pass.

SAD!!!
