hey! We just got back from the centre. Now thinking about some lunch.

Other option is maybe throwing the whole lot onto a Usb direct.

I'm gonna bring it to a friends house with my recovery disk and see if I can put my new HDD in his compy and boot from his CD drive.

If you can try giving a Cd drive a network address. Then boot from network (via cable). Prob with doing it that way is it will install with the config of his computer.
The third option is chucking it into the new hdd making a small partition for the recovery disk
