Interesting Osama and Taliban fact

I have heard this many times from people I trust but have not been able to verify it but I have no reason not to trust these people.

Osama and the Taliban have been calling on all muslims to unite to fight the US. Osama and the Taliban if I am not mistaken are sunni muslims. When they toof over Afghanistan the majority of muslims there were shiite muslims. the Taliban wiped out or eviced all Shiite muslims fromt he country. I am suprised that muslims forgot this.

The taliban are neither Sunni or Shi'ite they are a different branch altogether. I forget what it is called but it is a subsect of the orthodox Islam that is in Saudi Arabia and came about in the late 1800's early 1900's.

I think that the Taliban are driving people that are of different tribes then them out. I thought it has been more of an ethnic then religious thing. Religion is still very big but people that are of different tribes, there are three in Afganistan i belive, are being forced out or killed.

The dominateing form of Islam in Saudi Arabia and of the Taliban is Wahabbism,propageted by Bin Laden.

Afganistan is about 77% Sunni Islam
and about 15-20% Shi'ite Muslim..with the rest being Hindus or Bahais.

I figure they would name it the Taliban Jihad,, I mean what self respecting extremist would want to be been with an american made Infidel?
