I have my sleep study tomorrow finally. Hoping and praying for any answers that will help me sleep! Soooooooooooooo tired of being a zombie. :(

Good luck! I've often wondered if I should do one of those. Hope you get answers and some help.

Thank you. My daughter did one several years ago, She used to sleep walk bad, have nightmares, and wake a lot. She had her tonsils and adenoids out and tubes in her ears. She barely ever sleepwalks now. She doesn't have the nightmares any longer. She sometime has troubles sleeping, but not like she used to.

Just the sound of it sounds fun:
Sleep Study.
To study sleep.

Yeah...
That does sound fun, doesn't it.

if only they did it the old way. At the clinic. My daughter did hers that way and she got a night in a fun sleep number bed. Ok so she was hooked up to a bajillion wires and crap, but.. I thought it was fun (I had to stay with her since she was a butt baby and wouldn't let me leave)

So I was kinda looking forward to the night away. Good book, fun bed. etc.

But I go to the clinic, they show me how to hook it all up. I go home. Do the study in my own bed, then take all the shit back to them the next day for the evaluation. :(

Well the sleep study didn't happen today. I was do overly whelmed in the office. I Broke down crying. she finally realized how emotionally nutty i am from lack of sleep, that she took me seriously, and put a rush on my new tests and referrals. I was mad and angry and i left nuttier than a fruitcake. I came angry and emotional and just feel asleep. So now i start over.

Well, I did my sleep study which showed I had very mild apnea. Only 9 episodes per hour. So I am now a proud user of a CPAP machine. I have it on a 2 month rental to see if I can get used to it and see if it helps. As you can see, it doesn't help insomnia. Once I am asleep, it usually does help me sleep better throughout the night. If I wake up, I am getting back to sleep more quickly. However, I have to get a different mask I think. This one has been bugging the crap out of me lately. I am home today, so I will call.
The machine is quiet as heck and if I can get the mask worked out, I don't mind it at all.
They found nodules on my thyroid, so I had to get biopsies to make sure they weren't cancerous, which they weren't (Thank goodness) but they decided they were not big enough to be causing a breathing problem either. I have a small jaw, so they said that most likely when I am laying on my back, it is slipping back enough to cause those few episodes.
So next, I get a work book and start documenting my sleep patterns and routines.

*sigh* So basically. Nothing has come of the insomnia.

I've been recommended to try the "mirage" mask. Hope the recommendation helps :)
