So this may be dumb, but here it goes. My premise is that we start with a normal married couple, attractive, maybe late 40s, who have regular sex but both are just a bit bored. Both of them have hybrid work schedules, so sometimes they’re both at home, other times only one of them.

The wife gets a promotion at work and decides to hire a cleaning service since they can afford it now. The first twist comes when it’s not a woman that shows up the first day, but a very attractive young guy (maybe late 20s or early 30s). She’s immediately attracted to him, and as we switch perspectives between her and her husband, we find that the husband is also attracted to him despite the fact that he’s straight and has never even considered being with another guy before. So both of them are struggling with their attraction to this new housekeeper and keeping it from each other.

Turns out, the housekeeper is bisexual, and as we move to his perspective, we see little hints he’s picking up about how both are attracted to him. He of course eggs this on in both cases, finding ways to try and seduce each of them separately while the other is at work. This goes on for some time until each have their own sexual fling without knowing about the other. Eventually, the housekeeper concocts a plan to have them “catch” each other in the act, at which point everything is in the open and they all begin having sex together. This ultimately serves to bring the couple even closer together.

Later, the housekeeper meets a woman and falls in love with her. He struggles with this because he also finds that he’s falling in love with the older couple as well (and their feelings are mutual). However, he doesn’t feel right carrying on a relationship with them as he becomes more serious with her, so he ends up breaking off the romantic relationship with the couple to focus exclusively on his girlfriend. There are a lot of internal struggles as the three of them try to navigate their lives after this incredible bond the three of them shared together suddenly has to end.

A few months later, after the couple hasn’t been in contact with him for a while, the (former) housekeeper reaches out to let them know that he asked his girlfriend to marry him, so they’re now engaged. Feeling like enough time has passed to let their feelings die down, they decide to all go out to dinner together. The sparks immediately fly again as soon as they see each other, and it turns out his girlfriend is quite flirty and sexy in her own right. Later, the older couple have the best sex they’ve had in months role-playing both the former housekeeper and his new fiance.

As the four of them start spending more time together, it becomes obvious that the fiance really enjoys spending time with them all. Finally, one evening when they’re having a game night together, the fiancé has a bit too much to drink and suggests they play a risqué game together.

Long story short, they end up having a foursome together. At first the younger woman is mortified when she sobers up and realizes what happened, but her fiance convinces her that there was nothing wrong with it and that maybe it’s not such a bad thing. This leads to a number of encounters where the four of them explore their relationships with each of the other three, both separately and together. Ultimately, they all fall in love with each other and decide to all move in together.

I know this stretches the limits of believability a bit, but I plan to make it a fairly long story and spend a lot of time in each of the four characters’ perspectives, not just focusing on sex but also diving into the conflicting feelings and emotions that would come with such a potentially fraught arrangement. I especially want to spend some time on the same-sex relationships, exploring what it means to fit into society’s “standards” and how it feels to break free of them. Not loving a man or a woman, but loving the person themselves.

Sorry, I know that was long. If you made it this far, I’d love to get any thoughts or ideas on how to improve the general outline before I start banging this out. Would people be interested in reading something like this? Would the same sex relationships (particularly the guys) be a turn off, or am I retreading old ground here? The thought of it gets me really turned on, but not sure if I’m alone in that opinion or not.

Thank you all in advance!

Yes, it's a little far fetched but 90% of stories here are. It sounds like a wonderful polyamorous sexual fantasy and I would look forward to reading it. When stories end in love, readers eat it up.

Totally agreed, which is one reason I wanted to run the idea by everyone here first. I think there are some good ways to make it work narratively, particularly by diving deep into each characters internal perspective to understand their hang-ups and emotions about the whole thing (and how they end up resolving those issues). The male same-sex relationship will be the trickiest I think, as there are so many hangups guys tend to have around that. But I hope by showcasing the emotional component there over the sexual, maybe it’ll go down better even for straight guys reading it.

I know years ago, one of the things that helped me open up my own sexuality was reading erotica with same-sex male encounters. The really good stories that handled it well focused on the mental and emotional aspects over the physical, and that’s what got me over my hang ups to realize that any love is beautiful when it’s genuine.

It’ll take a lot of work to achieve that suspension of disbelief, but if I can get there, it feels like it could be a really interesting story.

Maybe I’ll start work on the first chapter and see how things move from there. Appreciate the feedback!
