Migraine can be like flu. Both have greater apparent incidences than the reality.

People claim they have a migraine when all they have is a headache; or that they have influenza when they have a cold.

Real migraines can vary from temporarily incapacitating to life-threatening.

My best wishes for Christabel's recovery and a curse for her ex.

May he have boils on his bum and warts on his penis.

Morning comes, and the sky didnt fall

but Christabel has fallen into a coma during the night. I am stealing an hour or three to get her lawyer on tap to take care of her final wishes if it comes to that. The children don't know this yet, as we have all agreed that we wouldn't tell them until and if things take a turn for the finally worse. Right now they believe the medicine has merely made her sleep.

A sufferer of migraines learns to differentiate between headaches and migraines. They learn more about their own bodies than most doctors understand. Christabel was stricken with Statis Migranosis last November. Its a migraine that starts and crests and stays at crest for weeks or even months at a time. Her case lasted nearly seven months. It would ease down for a couple of days then would crest again. The poor thing was in the ER and hospital so many times she was on first name basis with some of the nurses and doctors on staff. It finally broke at the beginning of May, but the delitorious side of effects of certain medications left her mostly a pretty shell with no one home. Against doctors orders she took herself off the medication and we all saw an immediate improvement in her. Several single migraines later she was up and about getting suntanned from working in her garden and relaxing on her fiance's Yacht. Which if you think about it is quite a feat for someone who couldnt tolerate the light from a 40 watt bulb at the beginning of May.

None of us were expecting this. This girl had been through way too much and now this. In a way its a relief: at least where she is now she isn't suffering.

I will read these amazing posts to her this evening after work. She may not be here, but I have every faith she will hear them.

I wish something could be done about her ex, but as such he is the father of the children and does have temporary full custody of them. He will learn, to his detriment, that treating her the way he does will lead to the distance of heart his children already bear towards him. His loss, her gain. I hope and pray her gain is one she can live to enjoy to the fullest.

I'm glad she's out of pain for the time being. I hope the coma proves to be the rest her body needs to re-boot and get better. I am sending her some more healing thoughts - I wish I could be there to do some reiki. Would she be able to tolerate gentle massage of any kind or would it cause her more pain?

Well, I can certainly see why she raves about this place. Just reading through these comments and prayers for a speedy recovery is heartening for me to see. I know she will think so too.

I don't really know Christabel, but I do know how lucky she is to have a friend like you helping at a time like this, especially with an ex like she seems to have. Please remember to take care of yourself too, so that you have the energy to help her.

May she wake from her coma healthy and free of pain.

Whats the story of Sleeping Beauty?

She lies there, machines attached as if she is a Borg. If only the kisses of her loved ones helped. Her ex has calmed down now and realizes that she really may be gone tomorrow. Honestly I think he is more frightened than any one that she may not survive this downturn. He had gotten used to her fighting back and winning.

His fiance is amazing with him, calling him out and straightening his thinking back to the right paths. I think that she has an ally there if she taps it. If Christabel recovers from this, I hope that he may sing a different tune with her. Lets pray that is true.

Christabel hides her pain well. Always has, but inside I know she spent a lot of time crying and raging with her hands tied in titanium bonds. We were surprised at some of her written requests as one of them is to return the crushed wedding band to her ex with a note. We didn't read the letter as thats tampering with mail, but it was thick. That girl! I tell you. Even when he was at his worst she always tried to be fair with him. He made her life a living hell with none of us able to help her and she still tries to be fair. Personally I would have castrated the son of a beep long ago.

So there it is. She remains within the coma for now. I will be back tomorrow if anything changes. I did read her the messages you have left for her. I don't know if they were heard, but I feel better having done so. For the most part this woman is alone in the world and this lets her know that there are others who DO CARE about her.
