I'll be glad when the election is over.

Only because, hopefully, no matter who wins, I won't have to hear another fucking moron say that Bush didn't win the popular vote. Campaign managers don't give a shit about the popular vote. If they did, Bush would have spent time campaigning in Texas and New York asking for votes. But you write off your wins and losses and pour money in states that are close.

There will be something in this election that will be the dead horse for the next four years.

Not living in the US but I thought Clinton was the best for ages, even if he has a terrible taste in women.

I mean what kind of girl lets it go to waste on her dress

Certainly best for the economy. Be nice to have the big surplus he left back. But then, oddly, the Dems always seem to have a better affect on the econ.

Wish we could get a viable 3rd party going in this country, though. or get IRV going. (Instant runoff voting.) IRV apparently leads to not only giving 3rd parties a chance, but to more middle of the road, rather than extremist, politicians in office. Because they have to appeal to people from Both parties. Open primaries, too. We should all get to vote on each others primary politicians.

AND campaign spending reform.

How about if no matter who you are, you are only allowed to spend, or to have spent on your behalf, a certain amount and that's it. No matter how much your party or you as an individual have. And you are given an equal amount of limited free-air time to get your message out. And THAT"S IT. The people get info from the newspapers and a regulated amount of other air time.

And frankly, there ought to be some way to do something about how much money the parties waste on their conventions. It's like charities using the money to throw a big party for themselves. Isn't that against some law? Or at least something they'd have to disclose before you give? What a Waste.

Well, it seems US elections are a lot more fun than ours, so we do thank you for the show. And we do a great business in "Sympathy, regrets and condolences" cards up here on the wednesday "after the first tuesday after the first Monday in November."

Popcorn anyone?

Shy slave, I agree with you. Clinton is my favorite president so far. I miss him terribly. And before someone says something about his personal flaws (smirking), I do not condone his behavior with Monica Lewinsky.

No matter which political party a person may favor, I hope I am right when I say that the majority of Americans realize that there needs to be a change in the Government. The country's going to hell, and it will only continue to fall unless there is a change.

I heard on MSNBC yesterday that instead of the "hanging chad" being a problem this year, it will be the absintee ballots.

Aw, but getting and using an absentee balot is so easy, right?

Okay, enough sarcasm from me.
If you look at sheer numbers, the amout of Americans outside the US that vote isn't likely to change much, spread over the US as a whole. But still, one should vote if one likes either canditate.

Personally- I'd love to see a woman in the white house, but I doubt that'll happen- unless she's someone's wife/daughter/sister/etc.

And what exactly do you think needs changing, other than SUV drivers that never take their vehicles off asphalt getting taxed 100% the value of their vehicle before it ever makes it off the car lot, and paying double the set price for a gallon of gas? Let's start with the stupidity of the general population and move on from there shall we?

Yes, your country needs a change, but I'm looking at your alternatives and shaking my head. Not that our choices were all that great this year, but our fun is done for the year.

Note: this isn't intended as a crack at the US, or the people of the US, just a crack at your presidential choices.

I guess it all depends on your outlook, but speaking from a Democratic standpoint (not a ultra-liberal standpoint), We are having a bad economy for many reasons, but the main reason is because we are spending all the surplus we once had on the war. I'm not going to get into my opinion of the war, except to say that every time I henecessityar about another soldier being killed I think, "What a shame, that soldier didn't have to die." I guess my point is that although the war is goin on, there are other important issues that need equal or somewhat equal amounts of attention. All the attention is on the war. I don't apose President Bush's goal to make us feel as safe as possible, that is necessary, however, none of the other social issues are receiving much focus. Health care
is still important whether or not there is a war going on or not, so is Social Security and other federal/state programs. In order to create jobs, the economy needs to be on the up and up. The more jobs available, the number of people collecting Government money decreases, and the economy strives ahead instead of behind.

I don't mean to offend anyone, just putting in my two cents.

I agree with you, I'd like to see a woman in the White House too someday. That would be cool.

*Hides under the bed until sure that AA has gotten it all out of his system, it reads as pointed comments in a calm voice~ way, way to scary for this shy slave*

Try again

Start at March 2000 and do a little research on what your beloved ex president did.

Don't go there with anything about soldiers. You'd be surprised at the voting record of one of the candidates.

i won't mention 1994 and a certain NY congresswoman if you don't mention health care.

i'll agree on a balanced approach, but some things need to come to an end by the sheer weight of numbers.

Gender has no place in the selection of POTUS, but get Netzi to run, and i'll vote for her rather than the two bozos currently vying for election.

No offense taken.

Maybe you should just start with a simple ecomics 101 lesson, AA.

Yes, and he smiled the whole time he perjured himself to congress and suffered no reperccussions... none that you or I would suffer for breaking the same law.

Continue to be scared, if it floats your boat. ;-)
